The cranium and pelvis are closely paired in their structure and dynamic function. In this immersion, we practice somatic movements and yoga poses to integrate and balance the motion of the sacrum-skull polarity. In the pelvis, we do practices to release the sacroiliac joint and engage the root (mula) of the body. In the skull, we practice movements to balance the delicate structures of the upper neck. We study the sacrum-skull polarity in downward dog, wheel, bridge, and more. We will see how yoga postures benefit the fluid dynamics within the spine, spinal cord, and intervertebral discs and benefit the parasympathetic nervous system. In this class we will see how the sacrum-skull polarity links the sacral and cranial chakras.
