Embodied Stillness

REGISTER: IN-PERSON
REGISTER: LIVESTREAM
Join us for a focused weekend of practice to restore balance, refine perception, and settle into the body. Through SATYA somatic movement, breath, and meditation, we explore how to release unnecessary effort, awaken internal support, and cultivate a steady, quiet mind. A chance to reconnect with practice in a simple and direct way.
Supple Hips, Quiet Mind | Friday 3-6
In this class we practice a long sequence to open the hips in order to be still, stable and centered in seated meditation. We open the frontal, lateral, and inside hip through SATYA movements and yoga postures. This class is an immersion to generate fluidity in the hips through both mobilization and stabilization techniques. Tias guides a series of movements to stretch, unwind and free the powerful musculature around the hips prior to sitting.
Centering In |Â Saturday 9-12
The region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in Japan, the dantian in China and related to the second chakra in yoga, the lower belly is the source of breath and the origin of the deep life force. In this class we initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions, we stretch, expand and strengthen the tissues of the lower abdomen.
For those who can, please join us in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple and register to attend in person.
For those students who cannot attend in person, please join us via livestream.
