In this immersion come practice to bring body and mind together through three primary qualities: Deep Relaxation, Pure Energy and Realizing Spacious Awareness. Friday, January 10 | 1 – 4pm, $65
This class involves twisting movements for the spine, organs, muscles and skin. Through supine, seated and standing poses come prepared to release blockages in the gut and spinal musculature. Twists help to squeeze, flush and replenish the tissues of the body. They allow the breath to flow deeper, they revitalize the blood and boost energy. After moving through a sequence of twists, we practice pranayama to open the lungs and chest.REGISTER HERE
Friday, January 10 | 5 – 7pm, $50
This class includes movement with precision of alignment. In the alchemy of our practice we unite stillness with movement, whether in seated meditation, flowing through postures or doing unwinding movements on the floor (SATYA). Saturday, January 11 | 9:30am – 12:30pm, $65
Lunge into the New Year by opening your hip joints, sacrum and low spine to prepare for backbends. Here at the beginning of the year bring energy and vitality to your body by learning to safely build a strong lower back for a back-bend sequence. Through lunges we stretch the hip flexors in order to open the heart and lungs! This improves balance, concentration and core connection.REGISTER HERE
Saturday, January 11 | 2 – 5pm, $65
The region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in Japan, the dantian in China and related to the second chakra in yoga, the lower belly is the source of breath and the origin of the deep life force. In this class we initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions, we stretch, expand and strengthen the tissues of the lower abdomen. At the beginning of the year we are motivated to cultivate a connection to something wider and deeper than ourselves. In this class we weave together yoga, meditative awareness and the wisdom teachings to cultivate a clear intention for the year ahead.
