Building Better Bones | November 6-Class Online Series

November 6 - November 24

REGISTER ONLINE

This month, we focus on cultivating healthy, strong, and resilient bones. As we age, maintaining bone density becomes increasingly important, particularly for women, who face a greater risk of osteoporosis and fractures. Through somatic movement, resistance training, weight-bearing postures, and balancing poses, we stimulate the muscles and connective tissues that support our bones. Each practice is designed to cultivate greater stability, strength, and adaptability, supporting vitality and well-being throughout life.

*All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time*

Taking a Stand: The Femur
Friday, November 6th

The upper thigh bone is the longest and strongest bone in the body. In this class you will mobilize the fascia around your femur through pumping and rocking movements, followed by standing and balancing postures to cultivate stability and enduring strength in the bones of your thighs.

Balancing Your Hips and Pelvis
Tuesday, November 10th

In this class we build durability and support in the bones of the pelvis through supine, seated, and standing positions. This makes the sponge-like interior of the bones resilient and adaptable.

Stabilizing Your Spine
Friday, November 13th

Throughout a lifetime, the spine produces the greatest amount of red blood cells in the body. For this reason, it is necessary to maintain elasticity and stability in each vertebra of the spine. In this class, we will alternately stretch and shorten the connective tissues surrounding the spine to cultivate greater flexibility, durability, and adaptability.

Upper Arm Bone Strength and Flexibility
Tuesday, November 17th

In this class we use weight bearing and non-weight bearing movements to address mobility in the shoulders and arms. Each movement of this practice helps build resiliency, stability, and strength in the upper arm bones.

Yoga of the Breastbone
Friday, November 20th

Remarkably, the sternum is one of the biggest producers of red blood cells in the body. For this reason, it is important to build strength and elasticity in the sternum. In this class, we do lifting, stretching and weight bearing movements throughout the entire upper trunk.

Making Your Ribs Wide and Strong
Tuesday, November 24th

In this class, we will cultivate strength and suppleness in the rib basket by bearing weight directly on the ribs in supine, side-lying, and belly-down positions. We will then practice forearm stands, planks, and dog poses to strengthen and bring stability to the boney surfaces of the ribs.

Cost: $100 + tax
