In yoga the back is considered the West side of the body. In order to open the back, we stretch the hamstrings and spinal muscles. In this class we lengthen and widen the back by practicing paschimottanasana (West side stretch) and its variations.
Have your props handy! We recommend a block, blanket, bolster, belt (and chair if you have access to one).
