Shall I practice meditation in the morning or the evening?

Steve,

It is best, in my experience, to practice in the morning prior to the start of your day. Prior to the activities of the day, practice quieting your mind. Instead of checking your email, texting your friends or family, eating and talking, sit in silence for 30 minutes. This will allow your mind to become a bit more clear for all the activities that lie ahead. It is what I like to think of as “emptying before you begin.”

If you cannot find time in the morning, then you can sit at the end of the day either before dinner or before bedtime. Typically by the end of the day, one’s mind is cluttered and prone to distraction. One gets so caught up in activity—reading, watching a movie, emailing—that there is no time. Nevertheless, make time to meditate.
