Supple Hips, Fluid Awareness | October 6-Class Online Series

REGISTER ONLINE
This month we devote our practice to slowly and carefully opening the hip joints. Each class begins close to the ground, releasing tension and restriction before progressing to seated and standing poses that bring mobility and stability to the hips, knees and sacrum. Through circling, spiraling, rocking and flowing movements, we cultivate greater ease, fluidity and awareness throughout the pelvis and spine.

*All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time*
Circular Flow in the Hips
Friday, October 9th
In this class we loosen the hips through both wide circular movements and small concentric circles. These movements bring a feeling of fluidity and lightness to the hip joints and low back.
Sukha in the Hip Joints
Tuesday, October 13th
Sukha is a sanskrit word suggesting ease, sweetness and contentment. In this class we take time to unwind tension in the hips in order to bring lightness and joy to the body and mind.
Revolve to Evolve—Hip Rotations
Friday, October 16th
In this class we combine internal and external hip rotations to loosen the deep connective tissues that support hips. We use turning, twisting, and spiraling motions to free the hips joints and low back region.
Rocking and Rolling the Hips
Friday, October 23rd
In this class we rock, pitch, and roll the pelvis and sacrum in order to loosen constriction in the hips. This practice generates ease and range of motion in your hips and spine.
Sweeping and Swinging the Hips
Tuesday, October 27th
In this class we practice flowing, pendulum-like movements to increase range of motion in the hip joints. Experience how sweeping, swinging motions bring lightness, flexibility, and fluidity to your hip joints.
Supple Hips, Stable Mind
Friday, October 30th
In this practice, we open the hip joints in preparation for seated meditation. Through rocking, pumping, sliding and stretching movements, we make the hips both supple and stable for sitting.
