In order to optimize circulation into the leg, it is critical that the lower abdomen and inner leg be pliable. All too often, the groins, hips, and inside leg become restricted, rotated, and thickened. Excess tissue pads this area restricting the circulation of blood and lymph. This can result in swelling of the lower leg, peripheral neuropathy, and fatigue. In this class we use SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) to open the inner leg via free flowing movements. We also practice supported yoga postures to slowly, but steadily release the fascia of the inner hip and groin to help open the circulatory and lymphatic channels.
When: Wednesday, September 29 | 9:30am – 12:00pm Mountain Time | 4:30 – 7:00pm UK Time
The neck, arms, and jaw are tied together by sturdy connective tissue, but all too often this tissue hardens and locks. This causes compression in the shoulders, hands, cervical spine, and brachial plexus. In order to prevent adhesions from accumulating in this region, we slide, rotate, side bend, and stretch the musculature of the neck, throat, and arms. We begin this class noting the important muscles, nerves, arteries, and lymph channels in and around the brachial plexus. You will see how peripheral neuropathy, osteoarthritis, and thoracic outlet syndrome are triggered by compression in the neck and shoulder. Symptoms may arise from sleeping patterns, repetitive strain syndromes, and trauma. We use SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) and both supportive and dynamic postures to release the soft tissues of the arm, neck and jaw.
