Balancing the Diaphragms | July 6-Class Online Series

July 3 - July 28

REGISTER ONLINE

A Six-Class Exploration of Structure, Breath, and the Flow of Prana

As we gather online this July, our six-class series unfolds during our annual time on Cape Cod, where the rhythms of breath, tide, and open sky offer a living reminder of the body’s interconnected diaphragms. Together we will explore six remarkable diaphragms that organize and connect the body from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head. These gateways in the body support our posture, breathing and circulation while providing a sense of inner balance. In each class we bring flexibility and stability to the diaphragms in order to deepen the flow of prana inside.

*All classes are held from 9:00 – 10:30am Mountain Time*

Foot Diaphragm
Friday, July 3

We begin from the ground up, stretching and strengthening the foot diaphragm know as the plantar fascia. By stretching and strengthening the plantar fascia we provide support for the ankles, knees and hips.

Knee Diaphragm
Friday, July 10th

Discover how healthy knees require both mobility and support. Through somatic movement and standing postures, we create resilience, adaptability, and ease.

The Root of the Body
Tuesday, July 14th

Awaken the foundational support of the pelvis and lower abdomen. This practice explores grounding, containment, and the subtle lift of mula bandha.

The Breath of Life: The Respiratory Diaphragm
Tuesday July 21st

The respiratory diaphragm is the central diaphragm that pumps prana through the body. In this class we mobilize the lungs by lengthening and strengthening the muscle fibers of the respiratory diaphragm.

The Roof of the Mouth
Friday, July 24th

In this class we bring ease and space to the throat chakra by opening the structures around the palate including the jaw, tongue and neck to free up the path of prana inside.

The Tentorium
Tuesday, July 28th

The tentorium is a beautiful diaphragm that cuts right through the cranium, dividing the lower and upper parts of the brain. In this class we do movements to balance the tent-like sheath inside the skull.
