SUMMARY:Prajna Live | The Archer’s Bow | Online Practice
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nOne of the most well regarded metaphors in spiritual training is that of the archer stringing his bow.  In this class we embody “right tension” in each pose like the body-mind connection of the archer\, taking aim with concentration and ease. When stretching connective tissue\, breathing or weight bearing onto bone\, we discover a tension that is neither too slack nor too taut. \nCost: $18 \nWhen: May 8 | 10:00 – 11:15am MDT \n\nSome logistics: \nHave your props handy! We recommend a block\, blanket\, bolster\, belt (and chair if you have access to one).\n\nPlease note all live-stream classes are in Mountain Time.\n\nWhen you register\, you’ll receive a link to join the Zoom webinar at the scheduled time. SUMMARY:Nourishing the Throat Chakra | Live Workshop with Tias
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE – WAITING LIST\n\nJoin Tias Little for these two special workshops with YogaCampus London\, which can be booked individually or together. Attendance will also count towards the Prajna Yoga SATYA certification requirements. \nCost: £32 per workshop or £55 for both \n\nNourishing the Throat Chakra: Thursday 7 May\nIn light of the coronavirus\, our airways are most vulnerable to infection. For this reason\, it is of upmost importance to increase the flow of blood and lymph through your neck and throat. \nThis is an in-depth course focused on how to promote health and vital function in the region of your upper trunk\, throat and jaw. We practice SATYA\, asana and pranayama to tonify the muscles\, connective tissues and glands of the throat. Anatomically\, we study the lymphatic tissue that surrounds the neck and throat as well as the thyroid gland and cervical musculature. We do bridge poses\, the lion pose\, fish and shoulder stand with focus on jalandhara band (the throat seal). \n\nSPREADING THE CANOPY OF THE LUNGS: TUESDAY 5 MAY (THIS EVENT HAS PASSED)\nLung tissue bears resemblance to the branches and leaves of a great tree. In this time of the coronavirus\, our lungs are susceptible to infiltration. How can we foliate our lung tree in a yoga practice to improve circulation and build defenses? \nThis is an in-depth course on the motility of the lung relative to the diaphragm\, intercostal muscles and ribs. We will see that the branchlets of the lungs terminate in feather fine capillary beds\, the primary site where the body absorbs prana. Learn how to safely expand your lungs through pranayama\, SATYA\, supported asana and physiology ball release. Anatomically\, we investigate the pathway of prana into the body\, detailing the motion of the heart-lung pair\, the bronchioles\, alveoli\, thoracic lymph nodes and pulmonary veins. \nBoth of these workshops will start with a presentation\, with time for Q&A\, followed by an in-depth SATYA practice. The workshops will be taught LIVE on Zoom. \nCertification \nUpon completion of this workshop\, you will receive a Yogacampus Certificate of Completion.

SUMMARY:Holding it all Together: Yoga and Connective Tissue - BODY of Santa Fe Livestream
DESCRIPTION:Fascia is the physical structure that holds us together. Literally. It keeps our bones upright\, our organs in place and supports the pathway of the nerves. A dedicated yoga practice involves moving layer by layer through the connective tissues. While fascia is the prime mover of the body\, it also a vessel for holding memory\, feelings\, dreams\, and identity. In this class we practice movements that enhance the flow of fascia through the body.  We also track how thoughts\, feeling\, memory\, and a sense of “I” are imprinted on the connective tissues. \n\n  \nCost: $35 \n  \n

SUMMARY:Death as the Teacher: New Live-Stream Lecture & Discussion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nDeath as the Teacher: Yoga and Renewal \nSpring is the time of year for growth\, regeneration\, rebirth and renewal . Yet in the midst of a global pandemic\, when death looms around us\, how can we use this opportunity to evolve on the path? Read the short story that features a dialogue between death and a young boy and meet with Tias to investigate the yoga teachings on discrimination\, the transitory nature of the senses\, meditation on the heart\, and connection to the timeless Self. Tias provides overview of the Upanisad and elucidates selected passages from the story. Then in a “roundtable” format\, we discuss and share how each of us can actualize the yoga teachings at this time. \n\nCost: $15 \nWhen: April 30 | 10:00 – 11:30am MT \n\nLogistics: \nThese unique classes will be a live Zoom class each (and of course available to you should you be unable to attend during the set time(s). \nPlease note that this event happens in Mountain Time.

SUMMARY:Prajna Live | Coils\, Kundalini\, and the Central Axis | Online Practice
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\n\nI always cringe when a yoga teacher says\, “extend straight”\, for in the body there are no straight lines. Rather\, there are a series of wrapping bands of connective tissue that spiral and cross throughout the body. In this class\, we practice mobilizing these bands that cross at the joints\, wrap along the spine\, and attach the legs and arms to the trunk. When we follow the flow of these myo-fascial bands\, our poses become more aligned\, more stable\, and provide greater orientation to the mid-line of the body.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nCost: $18 \nWhen: April 22 | 10:00 – 11:15am MDT \n\nSome logistics: \n  \nHave your props handy! We recommend a block\, blanket\, bolster\, belt (and chair if you have access to one).\n\nPlease note all live-stream classes are in Mountain Time.\n\nWhen you register\, you’ll receive a link to join the Zoom webinar at the scheduled time. You do not need a Zoom account to access the links. If you register while the class is in progress\, you will receive a link to join the webinar in progress. You will also have the option to view the recorded webinar at a later time. Registration will be closed at the end of the class—so be sure to sign up ahead of time!

SUMMARY:Opening the Pathways of the Nadis - BODY of Santa Fe Livestream
DESCRIPTION:In the history of yoga practice\, directing the life force in the body (prana) was compared to the way farmers damed\, collected and irrigated water for their fields. Thus prana is thought to move like rivulets\, streams and tributaries (called nadis) through the tissues of the body. \nIn this class we practice yoga posture and somatic movements to open the channels of the body\, some of which are extremely delicate and subtle. By alternately extending and contracting the body’s connective tissues\, we pump fluids through the circulatory system and irrigate blood and lymph into all the cells of the body. This class is designed to sense and feel the movement of the life force throughout the subtle body. \n\n  \nCost: $35

SUMMARY:The Prana Pump and the Space Within - London UK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nPrana is the source of all being and becoming. Yet B.K.S. Iyengar once said that it is as difficult to explain Prana as it is to explain god. How do we connect to Prana in order to enliven the spaces within? How do we listen to Prana and feel its pulsating rhythms? In yoga Prana is thought to flow through 72\,000 channels in the body. Prana is not only breath but arterial flow\, nerve pulsation\, and the flow of lymph. When Prana flows uninhibited through the spaces within\, it is both healing and enlivening. This urban immersion is designed to revitalise the subtle body by yoking to the Prana within. We explore the pulse of Prana through the connective tissues\, viscera\, nerves and glands. In practice we aim to feel the light of Prana in every single cell of the body. In meditation we see that the mind is like space and by cultivating a spacious mind\, we experience timeless awareness. \n  \nCost: £99 \n\nCertification \nUpon completion of this workshop\, you will receive a Yogacampus Certificate of Completion. \nIf you wish to gain certification from Prajna Yoga as a SATYA teacher\, you are required to take the SATYA 1 intensive running 7th to 11th June 2020 and complete additional hours of self-study. You will then have 45 hours of SATYA 1 training. \nTo become a SATYA teacher\, all SATYA courses are required – please see this page for further information on the certification process: https://prajnayoga.com/yoga-training/satya/

SUMMARY:Embodied Dharma: Yoga\, Connective Tissue and Inter-Being - London UK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nYoga historically has emphasised connection to a unified field of being. Within the body this can be experienced as the continuity of connective tissue. All structures are interwoven by a gauzy\, fibrous net of connective tissue. Connective tissue literally holds us together. In this immersion we explore the fluid\, interdependent nature of the fascia. We also explore how our sense of self identity is informed by the shape\, size\, and structure of our fascia. In the wisdom training\, one of the central teachings on the path of the Buddha-dharma is that all things are interwoven. Thich Nhat Hanh called this “inter-being”. Realising that all things at some level are interconnected is indispensable to realisation on the path of yoga. In this immersion we will practice movements that unite the flow of fascia in the body. We practice both flowing movements and still forms in order to directly experience the continuity of connective tissue. Then through insight meditation and dharma study we drop into states of meditation to discover that all things within us and around us are interwoven. SUMMARY:Movement\, Mindfulness\, and Magic - Fort Worth\, TX
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nor \nContact: info@indigoyoga.net\n\nFebruary 14 – 16\, 2020 \nIndigo Yoga \nFort Worth\, TX \n\nMovement\, Mindfulness\, and Magic\nThe power to change begins in the cells\, the dendrites and fascia of our bodies. In this immersion come prepared to experience a powerful interweave of meditation and movement. Each practice will serve to center awareness inside while generating blood flow through all the tissues of the body. Through mindfulness practice we cultivate a more open\, kind and accepting interior. Through both dynamic and restorative postures we bring vitality to the body and mind. \n\nFriday\, February 14 | 5:00 – 8:00pm \nCentering In \nThe region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in Japan\, the dantian in China and related to the second chakra in yoga\, it is the source of the breath and the origin of the deep life force. In this class we mindfully initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions\, we stretch\, expand and strengthen the tissues of the deep core. \n  \nSaturday\, February 15 | 9:00am – 12:00pm \nExpanding Outward \nIn yoga we create space in the body by expanding prana. Prana is the deep life force. It is both breath and blood and animates all the cells and tissues of the body. However due to compression and stagnation\, the prana becomes restricted. In this class we lift and widen and expand our interior in order to open the heart and elevate the spirit. \n  \nSaturday\, February 15 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nFolding Inward \nForward bends serve to draw the mind inward toward the spirit and to restore the organ of the brain. This class emphasizes release of the back body including the spine\, the kidneys and the neck. Forward bends help to reduce fatigue and prepare the mind for meditation. \n  \nSunday\, February 16 | 9:00am – 12:00pm \nRiding the Changing Edge \nIn practice we aim to find the edge within each pose. The edge is the threshold to change\, growth and awakening. While typically students aim to push their edges further\, this practice is about abiding at the edge\, without pushing against it or pulling back from it. No matter how small\, each edge represents a possibility for growth and transformation. In this class discover that whether on or off the mat\, you are always on the changing edge. \n  \nCost: $250 for the entire weekend

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya - Unlocking the Power of the Spine
DESCRIPTION:Unlocking the Power of the Spine |  Tuesday\, February 11th 2:00pm – 5:00pm \nIn the practice of yoga postures we aim to align the spine and make it supple by supporting the natural contours of the spine. We do this by stretching the muscles that attach directly to the spine in  supine\, seated and standing movements. This class mobilizes the essential structures of the spine—the spinal discs\, ligaments rib attachments and musculature\, while exploring the mystical central channel of the spine called the sushumna.  This is the vital axis through the body\, beginning at the perineum and ascending to the crown of the head.\n\n  \nCost: $60 + tax

SUMMARY:Wisdom of the Subtle Body - Tias Little at Spirit Rock\, Woodacre CA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nJanuary 31 – February 2nd\, 2020\n\nIn yoga and the meditative arts\, the body is a necessary vehicle for harnessing the potency of prana\, the essential life force. The prana moves through multiple tributaries in the body including the blood stream\, lymph\, connective tissues\, glands and nerves.\nIn this week-end immersion we animate this potency in all the tissues of the body. Our aim is less about doing or performing postures and more about sensing the subtlety and power of prana. In the way that the Wind Horse in ancient Tibet was thought to transport prayers and good intentions\, we “ride” the wind of prana to generate health\, wisdom and well-being. By alternating back and forth between meditative movement and deep stillness we bring greater vitality\, vividness and relaxation to both body and mind.

SUMMARY:Your Own Bright Light: Yoga and Zen with Tias Little and Henry Shukman at Esalen – Big Sur\, CA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n“Everyone has their own bright light\,” said Zen master Yunmen. “What is your bright light?” \nJanuary 26 – 31\, 2020\nDuring this week of deep immersion in the body practice of yoga and the heart-mind practice of Zen we explore ways to connect with the “bright light” of our own innate wisdom. \nNothing prepares us for meditation like yoga. And nothing takes us further down the path to freedom and love like meditation. Tias and Henry guide from their respective traditions while exploring connections between the two. The two practices fuel one another beautifully. By strengthening\, limbering\, calming and liberating the body from its tensions\, and by easing the heart-mind of its constrictions\, we awaken to the inner lamp of compassionate wisdom that never stops illuminating our lives. We have to slow down and go deep to find it\, but it is always here. \nThis week of shared practice is a powerful way to embody this wisdom\, all within the spectacular natural beauty of Big Sur. Whether you are starting out on the path of practice or are a long-time practitioner\, this week provides a special opportunity for students of all levels to simultaneously deepen their meditation practice while refining and expanding their yoga. \nRecommended reading:\nYoga of the Subtle Body by Tias Little \nOne Blade of Grass by Henry Shukman \n\nWorkshop Schedule\nSun 8:30pm – 10:00pm \nMon – Thu 9:30am – 12:45 pm \nMon – Thu 4:15pm – 6:15pm \nFri 10:00am – 12:00pm \n\nAbout the Leaders\nTias Little \nTias Little synthesizes classical yoga\, Sanskrit\, Buddhist studies\, anatomy\, massage\, and trauma healing. SUMMARY:In the Flow of the Now - Tias Little at Love Story Yoga\, San Francisco CA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nJanuary 24 – 26\, 2020\n\nYoga is a practice to be whole heartedly in the moment. Whether on or off the mat\, we aim to be in the flow of presence for whatever is arising. Yet if the moment is always passing\, how do\nwe arrive at full open presence?  In this week-end immersion\, we practice being in the flow of presence through three primary qualities: Deep Relaxation\, Pure Energy and Realizing Spacious Awareness. Each class weaves together movement\, stillness\, sound\, pranayama and visualization. In each session\, we practice being in the flow of the now through energy and clarity. \n\nEmbodied Presence: Friday 1pm – 4pm \nWe must remember that the present is right in front of our noses\, all the time. We need not go to India\, refrain from eating\, or push ourselves to the brink of exhaustion in order to realize this. It is always near\, much closer than we ever could have imagined. “Without realizing how near the truth is\, we seek it far away\,” taught the Japanese Zen master Hakuin. In this class we cultivate presence via breath work\, fascia release\, standing poses and slow flow. \nIn the Flow of the Tao: Friday 6pm – 9pm \nThe flow of presence has been celebrated in China since the 6th century BCE\, as an expression of the movement of the Tao. The flow of Tao is likened to the flow of water. Like a waterway that moves incessantly\, the Tao is without fixed principles\, always changing and responsive. “It is thus that Tao is like a river flowing down the valley to the ocean\,” said Lao Tzu in the Tao Te Ching. In this class we embody the essence of water—flowing\, gliding\, pooling and streaming. \nPracticing  Presence: Saturday 1pm – 4pm  \nThis is a practice that brings us to presence. In the midst of the daily round\, it is common to get stranded in expectations about how things should be. It is then that we must remember to come back to the moment at hand. Like pressing the restart button on a computer\, we must find our way to the now. In this practice we do yoga postures\, myofascial release work\, pranayama and vinyasa to cultivate presence. Whether moving or still\, alone our together\, our aim is to be in the flow of the now. \nThe Path of Practice: Sunday 1pm – 4pm \nIf the path of practice is to be in the now\, how do we realize it? How can we grasp that which has no fixed shape and follows no definite rules? How do we live a life of presence in tune with our surroundings? In this practice\, we enter a presence much greater than ourselves\, one that always includes us. We are never apart from it. In the way that a fish makes its home in water or a bird travels through air\, through practice we are sustained by the flow of the now. In this class we practice breath work\, fascia release\, standing poses and slow flow.
