SUMMARY:Embodied Stillness
DESCRIPTION:BOOK NOW – click here to book for in-person or livestream\n\nJoin us for a focused weekend of practice to restore balance\, refine perception\, and settle into the body. Through SATYA somatic movement\, breath\, and meditation\, we explore how to release unnecessary effort\, awaken internal support\, and cultivate a steady\, quiet mind. A chance to reconnect with practice in a simple and direct way. \n\nSupple Hips\, Quiet Mind | Friday 3-6 \nIn this class we practice a long sequence to open the hips in order to be still\, stable and centered in seated meditation. We open the frontal\, lateral\, and inside hip through SATYA movements and yoga postures. This class is an immersion to generate fluidity in the hips through both mobilization and stabilization techniques. Tias guides a series of movements to stretch\, unwind and free the powerful musculature around the hips prior to sitting. \nCentering In | Saturday 9-12 \nThe region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. SUMMARY:Yoga\, Fluidity & Form – Tias & Surya Yoga Retreat at The Falcon at Castle Ashby\, England
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER TO ATTEND IN-PERSON AT THE FALCON AT CASTLE ASHBY\, ENGLAND\n\n\n\nWhen we are born\, we are 80% water\, yet over the course of a lifetime our tissues lose their fluidity\, adaptability and suppleness. Dehydration of the tissues can lead to stiffness\, osteoarthritis\, osteoporosis and chronic pain. When the fluid systems of the body get suffocated\, they lose their circulatory rhythm\, pulse and tempo. And how do we remain fluid and open systems emotionally and spiritually in this time of global strain? \nIn this immersion\, we practice movement\, meditation and yoga to bring fluidity to both body and mind. Through SATYA (somatic movement) and yoga\, we free up the thousands of small tributaries of blood\, lymph and nerve that travel through the connective tissues. Whether holding still in a pose or moving between poses\, we cultivate suppleness and fluidity. \nThroughout the weekend\, we explore the therapeutic potential of the fluids and the inherent “intelligence” of the fluids – the ground substance of the body\, the extra cellular matrix\, the lymph\, the circulatory system and the cerebral-spinal fluid. \nWe will also take time to address the changes in the fluid system in the female body during menopause and practice ways to optimally sustain vitality in the aging process. \nThrough mindfulness practice\, therapeutic asana and yoga Nidra\, each practice is designed to build fluidity in both mind and body. All practices aim to support the body’s fluid tidal rhythms\, pulses and wave-like motion. Finally\, we explore the connection between equilibrium of the bodily fluids and yogic states of absorption (samadhi). \nAlongside this amazing teaching you will enjoy:\n\nAn optional heritage walk with Lord and Lady Northampton – not to be missed! (included in the package).\nOptional open water swim in the Castle Ashby Lake (additional charge applies)\nOptional Treatments  / Body Work (additional charge applies)\nOptional tranquil Forest Therapy Walk through the gardens of Castle Ashby\, led by Tracy Northampton\, inviting reflection\, connection\, and grounding in nature – (included in the package)\nNutritious and Delicious Food\nStunning location for true relaxation

SUMMARY:Yoga Somatics – An Experiential Weekend of Embodied Practice with Tias & Surya Little in Berlin\, Germany
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER TO ATTEND IN-PERSON IN BERLIN\, GERMANY\n\n\n\nA weekend to slow down—so the body can speak again. \nYoga Somatics is a precise\, deeply nourishing approach to movement: subtle\, intelligent\, and profoundly effective. Guided by Tias and Surya Little—co-founders of Prajna Yoga and pioneers in SATYA (Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga)—we explore the body’s inner pathways: fascia\, joints\, breath\, circulation\, spine\, and the quiet current of prana that connects it all. \nExpect a practice that is gentle\, experiential\, and surprisingly transformative. Less effort. More sensation. More space. More you. \nWhat this weekend is about\nIn yoga\, the nadis are described as rivers of energy flowing through the body—pathways of circulation that include blood\, lymph\, and the nervous system moving through the connective tissues. In SATYA somatics\, we learn to listen to these pathways through small\, refined movements—rocking\, spiraling\, gliding\, unwinding—until the body remembers how to release. \nThis weekend supports: \n\nFascial hydration & joint nourishment \nNervous system downshift (stress release\, deep settling) \nPelvic and spinal support (sacrum\, low back\, hips) \nNeck and shoulder release (space\, ease\, clarity) \nA coherent inner flow (bandhas\, central channel\, spinal chakras)\n\nThe effect is often immediate: more breath\, more internal spaciousness\, more grounded vitality. \n\n\n\n\nSchedule & Session Descriptions\nFriday\, May 1\, 2026\n2:00–4:30 pm — Yoga Somatics for Nadis\, Circulation & JointsWe explore gentle SATYA somatic movements and yoga postures to invite greater ease and circulation through the body’s subtle pathways. Rocking\, circular\, and spiral movements soften fascia\, nourish joints\, and awaken the body’s natural fluid intelligence. Slow\, receptive\, and deeply regenerative—supporting radiant health\, resilience\, and longevity. \n6:00–8:30 pm — Nourishing Bone\, Blood & BreathA calming practice designed to unwind fatigue and stress held in the deeper tissues. Through SATYA somatics and supported yoga postures\, we help the nervous system settle\, release strain\, and quiet the mind. As the body softens\, prana flows more harmoniously—nourishing bone\, blood\, and breath\, and restoring a grounded sense of ease and vitality. \n\nSaturday\, May 2\, 2026\n10:00 am–12:30 pm — Yoga Somatics for Sacrum\, Hips & Low BackA slow\, attentive exploration of the structures around the hips—inviting stability and ease into the low back and pelvis. Through gentle\, multi-directional movements we explore the many angles of rotation in and around the hip joints\, encouraging fluidity in the sacrum\, SI joints\, and pelvic bowl. Grounding\, supportive\, and quietly strengthening. \n2:00–4:30 pm — Yoga Somatics for Shoulders & NeckWe practice SATYA using gentle gliding\, stretching\, and unwinding movements to cultivate somatic intelligence and deepen proprioceptive awareness. As fascia is softly stretched and tissues rehydrate\, accumulated tension in shoulders and neck begins to release. This practice helps reduce stress and depletion—leaving you more spacious\, supported\, and at ease. \n\nSunday\, May 3\, 2026\n10:00 am–12:30 pm — Yoga Somatics for the Spinal ChakrasThe chakras are vital centers along the spine—closely connected with the nervous system and the subtle flow of life force. Through gentle yoga and somatic release (sliding\, gliding\, twisting\, wave-like movements) we invite clarity\, balance\, and vitality along the length of the spine. We also work with bandhas—subtle inner supports—to encourage a smooth flow through the central channel. Integrative\, spacious\, and quietly powerful: a coherent close to the weekend. \n\n\n\n\nWho this weekend is for\nThis weekend is ideal if you want to: \n\nrelease chronic tension (neck\, shoulders\, hips\, low back)\nsupport stress regulation and nervous system resilience\nrefine your body awareness and movement intelligence\nnourish joints and fascia in a sustainable way\ndeepen yoga practice without pushing harder\n\nOpen to practitioners and teachers. No advanced flexibility required—just willingness to move slowly and feel honestly. \nWhat to expect (Spirit Yoga promise)\n\nA clear\, guided structure—yet plenty of inner space\nSomatic precision with a meditative undercurrent\nPractices you can take home immediately\nThe kind of weekend that doesn’t “hype” you—it settles you\, aligns you\, and returns you to yourself\n\n\nCost: 300 Euro (all days)\, 56 Euro (day pass)

DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE: IN-PERSON IMMERSION\nREGISTER HERE: LIVESTREAM ONLINE IMMERSION\nUK STUDENTS REGISTER HERE\n\nSensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement\nCourse Description\nIn a totally unique way\, the SATYA practice opens doorways into the interior\, providing new pathways of perception and feeling. It guides students away from “doing” movement and toward sensing\, receiving and “being” movement. As an adjunct to yoga practice\, somatic awareness leads to embodied wisdom. \nSATYA is Prajna Yoga’s “yin” style practice. All the movements are done on the floor in a flowing fashion\, without force. The SATYA movements cultivate inner listening and heighten proprioceptive awareness. This awareness is the body’s innate intelligence. By increasing our capacity for sensory awareness\, we become more sentient\, wakeful beings in the world. The exercises are non-weight bearing and involve sliding\, gliding and circular movements to reduce myo-fascial holding in the body. \nThe SATYA training\, along with yoga postures\, involves neural-muscular re-education. Like in vinyasa training\, breath is combined with movement in order to deepen the respiratory rhythm. All movements support profound physical rest of the body and prepare for savasana and yoga nidra (the yogic sleep). \nOur SATYA 1 immersion is perfect for first-time students or returning practitioners looking to reconnect with the subtle body. Experience SATYA 1 from anywhere with our livestream online option. Join Tias & Surya in real time via Zoom\, or watch on your own schedule with one-year access to all recordings. SUMMARY:Bandhas: Gateways to the Yoga Body | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nBandhas are internal seals that direct the flow of vital energy through the body. Engaging the bandhas is an essential part of yoga\, for the bandhas impact the master glands of the body while sparking open the nerve bundles along the front of the spine. However\, due to stress\, trauma and the pressures of modern day living\, strain lodges in the body\, making bandha work precarious and potentially irritating. This course undertakes an in-depth study of the anatomy of the pelvic\, abdominal and cervical “locks”. We look at the bandhas not as contractions\, but as internal seals used to channel prana\, activate the chakras and balance the autonomic nervous system.  We aim to demystify the bandhas\, identifying them neither as mechanical locks nor esoteric techniques. Rather we will see how the bandhas flow as a natural extension of breathing and spinal motion. We will have time to explore a bandha each week using yoga\, somatic work\, meditations\, journaling and pranayama. In this course we compare descriptions of the bandhas from the esoteric yoga tradition with contemporary research in the fields of psychology\, neuroscience\, somatics\, and contemplative science. \nCost: $135 + tax \nWhen: Live Zoom Meetings on April 1\, 8\, 16\, and 22 | 9:30am – 11:30am MT. 11:30am – 1:30pm ET. \n\nDay 1   Tapping the Root: Mula Bandha \nIn this practice we energize the innermost structures of the pelvis without clenching or gripping. We explore how mula bandha supports the reproductive organs while providing stability and fluidity in the first two chakras. \nDay 2  The Flying Bandha: Uddiyana Bandha \nUddiyana bandha is critical for lengthening and stabilizing the lower back while activating the third chakra in the solar plexus. Discover how this bandha supports the internal organs and regulates the adrenal glands. We explore how this region is related to the energy of power and fear. \nDay 3  The Throat Bandha \nThis day is devoted to the throat and technique of the “water bandha”. This seal impacts the fluids in the neck– blood\, lymph and the secretion of thyroxine from the thyroid gland.  In this class\, we engage the delicate structures of the throat without causing excessive constriction. We study how the throat relates to sound resonance\, vocal power and repressed emotion. \nDay 4   The Tongue Seal \nIn hatha yoga it is of utmost importance to expand the region of the tongue\, soft palate and upper throat. Yogis emphasize curling their tongue backward in order to open the pathway into the cranial chakras. Constriction of the palate and upper throat can result in diminished oxygen to the brain\, fatigue\, poor concentration\, and dementia. In this class we open the roof of the mouth and work with the vital energy centers in the brain. \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions and classes will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available to you for 30 days after the last class concludes. \n** This immersion is valid for 8 hours of Continuing Education\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Program. \n**Have your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, a 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). SUMMARY:Embodying the Inner Vows | March 2026 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER ONLINE\n\n\n\nThis month on the path of practice\, we reignite our vows to become more wholesome\, clear and connected. In each class\, we illuminate one of the five vows from the Yoga Sutras — cleanliness\, contentment\, physical discipline\, contemplation\, and devotion — clarifying our heart and mind while affirming our relationship to the world around us. \n\n\n\n* All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time* \nWant to register for individual classes? Click here. \n\nPurify Body and Mind-(Saucha) – Tues\, March 3rd\nIt is best to begin each day by cleansing the nerve and blood channels of the  body. In this class we flush and rinse the cells of the body by circulating the breath\, pumping the organs\, and awakening the spine.\n\nFind True Contentment Within-(Santosha) – Fri\, March 6th\nIn light of global disruption and divisive thinking\, how can you embody lasting joy? In this class discover how a path of practice can foster a sense of joyful solace inside. In this class\, we explore ways to cultivate positive and wholesome states in heart and mind. \nChange the Chemistry of the Body-(Tapas) – Tues\, March 10th\nLasting change comes about  through physical transformation at the level of the nerves\, muscle fibers and glands. In this class we burn off any dull\, shadowy\, thick layers of holding by using movement\, flow states and internal breath-work. \nPractice Daily Contemplation-(Svadhyaya) – Tues\,\nMarch 24th\nEach day it is essential to take time in personal communion while remaining true to your own path of seeking. In this class we weave prayerfulness throughout the entire practice whether moving\, sitting still\, or reflecting on the wisdom teachings. \nEmbody Faith-(Isvara Pranidhana) – Fri\,\nMarch 27th\nEach of us has a uniquely personal connection to the boundless\, incomprehensible source that sustains all things. Each day we have to remain loyal to the internal voice inside that calls us to live with authenticity and resolve. In this class\, we embody the last of the inner vows\, yoking to an all pervading power. \nWholesome Body\, Wholesome Mind-(Integration) – Tues\,\nMarch 31st\nIn the Yoga Sutras\, Patanjali recommends cultivating the opposite wing when encountering unwholesome states (pratipaksa bhavana). In this class we practice ways to strengthen the body while cultivating luminosity\, joy and kindness. \nCost: $100 + tax\n\n\nHave your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy.\nPlease note that all classes are in Mountain Time.\nCan’t join us at 10am MT because of your schedule or time zone? We’ve got you covered! Reserve your seat and all video recordings will be uploaded to your course curriculum to watch when you can\, available to stream for 30 days after the last day of class.

SUMMARY:The Heart of Practice | February 2026 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER ONLINE\n\n\n\nIn these unsettled times\, yoga invites us back to the quiet intelligence of the heart. The Katha Upanishad reminds us that freedom comes through “loosening the knots of the heart.” Through gentle movement\, meditation\, and verse\, we explore the heart as both a physical and spiritual center- softening what has been held\, widening the inner space of the chest\, and cultivating loving kindness not as an idea\, but as a lived\, embodied experience. \n\n\n\n* All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time* \nWant to register for individual classes? Click here. \n\nThe Flame of the Heart – Fri\, Feb 6th\nSteadying the flame of the heart is an ancient yogic image for remaining centered in times of trial and conflict. In this class\, we tend to the quiet inner fire — cultivating steadiness\, clarity\, and warmth — so that both heart and mind may awaken and rest in a luminous\, unwavering presence.\n\nThe Ocean of the Heart – Tues\, Feb 10th\nThe thrum of the heart can be felt in every cell of the body\, like a great tide moving within us. In this practice\, we take a deep dive into the flowing\, circulatory waters that pass through the heart — blood\, lymph\, and breath. As we gently hydrate the tissues through mindful movement and rhythm\, we begin to experience the body as an inner ocean: fluid\, spacious\, and quietly nourished within. \nIn the Lotus of the Heart – Fri\, Feb 13th\nThe Siva Tantra known as the Vijnana Bhairava describes a practice of absorbing the mind into the lotus of the heart. In this class\, we devote mindful movement\, subtle sensing\, and sensory awareness to attune to this inner heart – lotus. As attention settles and the body softens we begin to experience the heart as a quiet\, luminous space of presence and receptivity. \nRecharge Your Kidneys\, Feed Your Heart – Tues\, Feb 17th\nIn Chinese Medicine\, the kidneys are seen as the deep storehouse of our vital energy\, and nourishing them is one of the most powerful ways to open and support the heart and lungs. In this class\, we focus on bridges and arches to awaken kidney energy\, expand the chest\, and free the breath — cultivating a felt sense of being both rooted and uplifted\, supported from the depths and open through the heart. \nNourishing the Heart and Brain – Fri\, Feb 20th\nOne of the enduring aims of yoga is to bring the heart and mind into harmony. Just as the heart has its chambers\, the brain also holds inner spaces — ventricles– that remind us of the fluid\, relational nature of consciousness itself. In this class\, we explore practices that unite heart and head through mindful movement\, mantra\, and quiet reflection\, inviting clarity\, coherence\, and a felt sense of inner communion to arise. \nLoosening the Knots of the Heart – Tues\, Feb 24th\nThe Katha Upanishad tells of a young seeker who learns yoga and\, through it\, loosens  the knots of his heart and discovers freedom. In this final class\, we turn toward this same unbinding – softening physical and subtle holding patterns around the heart\, and resting in the quiet radiance and deep\, abiding joy that remain when the knots begin to dissolve.

SUMMARY:Rocking and Rolling Into the New Year | January 2026 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\n\n\nChildren are known to self soothe by rocking\, sliding\, shaking\, tapping or pumping their body (known as stimming). It is proven that repetitive physical motion calms the nervous system and regulates the biorhythms. This month we practice somatic movements and yoga poses to boost a parasympathetic response in the body\, entrain the breathing\, and regulate the nervous system. \n\n\n\n* All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time* \nWant to register for individual classes? Click here. \n\nWagging the Tail – Fri Jan 9th\nSide to side\, pumping movements around the tailbone generate micro-movements all along the spine. In this practice we oscillate\, rock and pump the sacrum and tailbone to help bring synergy and coherency to the nervous system. \nRocking and Pumping in the Legs – Tues Jan 13th\nThis class emphasizes release of the nerve sheaths that travel down into the legs. We rock and pulsate through the heels\, ankles and knees. This helps generate kinetic flow up into the pelvis\, spine and brain. \nRolling the Pelvis – Fri Jan 16th\nThis class focuses on rocking and side-bending motions to free up restrictions in the strong connective tissues of the pelvis.  We also use pelvic tilts to pump the low back and sacrum. This leads to a profound sense of integration\, relaxation\, and well-being in the entire body. \nRolling and Rippling the Spine – Tues Jan 20th\nIn this class we do movements to help propel waves of kinetic energy through the spine. We practice front to back and side to side movements to pump\, slide and pendulate the spine. This helps bring coherency to the entire spine and central nervous system. \nSliding and Squeezing the Arms – Fri Jan 23rd\nArm and hand releases can have profound effects on the brain and nerves. By stretching\, rocking and tapping the arms\, we open up the neurological pathways down to the hands and wrists and integrate the two sides of the body. \nUnwinding the Neck and Shoulders – Tues Jan 27th\nIn this class we perform side to side movements in the neck and shoulders to help bring mobility to the upper trunk. This helps to discharge energy through the hands and regulate the lungs\, heart and nervous system. \nCost: $100 + tax\n\n\nHave your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). SUMMARY:Riding the Wave of the Lymph | December 2025 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\n\n\nA Winter Practice for Immunity\, Vitality and Rejuvenation\nAs we enter the winter season\, we restore and energize the body by supporting lymphatic flow. To pump the lymph\, we encourage wave like flow through the skin\, fascia\, organs and interstitial spaces of the body. \n\n\n\n* All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time* \nWant to register for individual classes? Click here. \n\nSkin Flow – Fri Dec 12th\nMore than 80% of all lymph is just under the skin. In this class we stretch\, pump\, squeeze and slide the skin in order to create elasticity and flow in the sub-dermal layer. This kind of practice helps generate radiance and luster in the skin. \nLymphatic Drainage in the Legs – Tues Dec 16th\nIt is common for fluids to collect in the lower limb resulting in edema\, spider veins or varicose veins. In this class we pump the ankles\, feet and knees to “rinse” and wash lymph and blood through the lower limb. \nLymphatic Flow through the Hips – Fri Dec 19th\nThe inner groin and deep pockets of the hip are home to a collection of lymph nodes. In this class we focus practice on stretching\, squeezing and “milking” the hip region to increase lymph drainage. \nCleansing the Gut – Tues Dec 23rd\nThere are many yoga practices designed to flush and cleanse the gut. In this class we do abdominal practices to help churn the belly and irrigate lymph through the gut. \nCirculation through the Breast Tissue – Fri Dec 26th\nIt is critical to have a regular practice of pumping lymph through the breast tissue. In this class we do chest openers to help rinse\, cleanse and filter lymph through the breasts and chest cavity. \nLymphatic Drainage in the Neck – Tues Dec 30th\nIn the winter season\, many people are prone to respiratory infection. In this class we mobilize the upper trunk\, neck and jaw to boost immunity. We practice light pumping\, rocking and lifting movements and do bridge pose and shoulderstand to bathe the neck in lymph. SUMMARY:Yoga Nidra: Finding the Still Point | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:US STUDENTS – REGISTER HERE\nUK STUDENTS – REGISTER HERE\n\nFinding the Still Point \nThe practice of Yoga Nidra enables the entire nervous system to rejuvenate and the brain to rest deeply. The pacifying effects on the brain in Yoga Nidra practice are similar to the still point in cranial-sacral therapy whereby the oscillations of the brain subside and the fluids around the brain become still for a time. In this practice of Yoga Nidra we generate profound stillness and serenity in the brain tissue. Each practice emphasizes release of the cranial tissue to promote states of deep relaxation and absorption. When cranial rhythms move into still point\, the entire body and mind can restore to their optimal levels of vitality. However\, still point can not be engineered or made to happen. It must arise of its own accord. Thus in this series of Yoga Nidra practices\, we slowly relax the body\, moving from periphery to center\, in order to prepare for the possibility of the cranial still point. \nWhen: December 3\, 4\, and 10 | 9:30 – 11:30am Mountain Time\n \nCost: $120 + tax \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions and classes will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available to you for 30 days after the last class concludes. \n** This immersion is valid for 6 hours of Continuing Education\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Program.

SUMMARY:Elegant Spine | November 2025 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\n\nWe devote this month’s classes to increasing spinal motion beginning at the coccyx and moving to the crown of the head. Each class will be a deep dive into the energetic structure of each spinal segment. Through sliding\, gliding\, stretching and stabilizing practices\, we open the pathway of vitality through the spine.\n\n\n* All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time* \nWant to register for individual classes? Click here. \n\nCoccyx – Fri Nov 7th\nThe coccyx is our vestigial tail\, a series of 4-5 small and delicate bones that fuse together. Work with the tailbone involves mobilizing the extremely fine and sensitive tissue of the perineum. In this class we do small\, subtle movements to pump\, pulse\, lift and expand the tailbone. In standing poses we use the tailbone to refine balance and stability. \n\nSacrum – Tues Nov 11th\nThe sacrum is the holy bone of the body. Related to the water chakra and the energy of kundalini\, the sacrum promotes fluidity along the entire spinal column. In this class\, we discover the sacrum as the center of gravity in the body. In movement\, we pump\, rock\, expand\, narrow and lift the sacrum to promote spinal motion. \n\nLumbar – Tues Nov 18th\nThe bones of the lower spine are strong and stout yet prone to compression\, torques\, twists and displacement. In this class\, we build integrity within the muscle fibers and ligaments of the lumbar to help reduce low back pain and increase spinal motion. \n\nThoracic – Fri Nov 21st\nMotion of the thoracic spine is crucial for stabilizing the ribs\, diaphragm\, heart\, and lungs. All pranayama practice requires a supple but firm thoracic spine. In this class we increase ROM in the upper spine through sliding\, side-bending\, rocking and pumping movements to prepare for pranayama. \n\nCervical – Tues Nov 25th\nThe muscles\, tendons and ligaments that attach directly to the neck are extremely delicate and fine. While it should be a goal in every yoga pose to avoid compression in the neck\, it is common for students to force their neck into position. In this class we gently mobilize the neck to help orient and align the cranium. \n  \nOccipital – Fri Nov 28th\nThe bone at the back of the skull\, the occiput\, is a vestigial vertebrae that in animals such as elk\, deer and horses\, holds the powerful mane of the neck in place. In humans\, the occiput is often restrained due to tension in the neck and jaw. In this class we increase fluid motion in the occiput\, connect the occiput to the sacrum\, and bring awareness to the cranial bones and the connective tissues around the brain. In this series of classes we attend to the rise and fall of blood throughout our practice. How does blood pressure change through the course of a day? What is your signature blood pressure? In practice\, we track changes in the viscosity of blood through vasodilation and vasoconstriction in the peripheral arteries\, veins and capillaries. Generally\, as vascular resistance regulates\, pressure is taken off the heart and people live longer. We practice SATYA sequences to help regulate cardio-vascular rhythm\, at times quickening blood pressure and at other times slowing it down. In this series of continuing education SATYA classes\, there will also be time for general questions and review related to SATYA teaching and practice. \n**Pre-requisite: Completion of SATYA 1** \n  \n  \nWHEN: November 5\, 6\, and 12 | 9:30 – 11:30am Mountain Time \nCOST: $120 + tax \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available for 30 days after the last day of the live immersion. \n**This immersion is good for 8 hours of continuing education credit. \n\n**Have your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy.

SUMMARY:Acupressure & Yoga | Therapeutics Training in Orleans\, MA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nAcupressure and Yoga: Gateway into Deeper Practice and Understanding\n  \nJoin Tias and Surya for a deeply rejuvenating immersion providing the essential knowledge on how to use pressure point stimulation in any therapeutic context to heal the body.\n\nIn yoga and Ayurveda\, there are vital acupressure points located on the surface of the body that connect to the energetic circuitry of nerve and blood. In this course we detail the 21 most important acupressure points (known as marma points in Ayurveda) that can be directly stimulated through yoga postures. Via pressure point therapy\, we activate the flow of prana at each marma point to improve circulation through the skin\, fascia and organs. We study the anatomical location of each point\, comparing and contrasting the marma points of Ayurveda to the acupuncture points used in Chinese Medicine. \nEach day includes pressure point release via somatic practices (SATYA) and yoga postures\, including the direct stimulation of bolsters\, blocks\, the floor and belts. Each day we cover ways to impart direct stimulation on the points using small physio balls. In dyads\, we use restorative poses such as supta baddha konasana\, savasana\, and leg-up-the-wall pose combined with manual pressure point release. Each day\, Tias and Surya weave together many rich and delightful teachings including poems of awakening\, guided meditation\, somatic awareness and chant. \n  \nWhen: September 24 – 27 | 9:30am – 5:00pm\n  \nLocation: The Church of the Holy Spirit | 204 Monument Rd\, Orleans\, MA 02653\n  \nCost: $765 before August 1st\, $840 after August 1st\n  \n*Single day passes available by request! $220 per day\, please email the studio (petra@orleansyoga.com) to register. \n*Registration includes manual with extensive imagery\, poetry\, chanting\, Sanskrit and anatomy. \n\n**Acupressure & Yoga is good for 28-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300-Hour Program.

SUMMARY:Yoga\, the Brain\, and Dementia | Online 2-Part Course
DESCRIPTION:US STUDENTS – REGISTER HERE\nUK STUDENTS – REGISTER HERE\n\nYou probably have known a friend or family member who has suffered from debilitating dementia. The onset of dementia is rising rapidly worldwide affecting 1 in 10 people over the age of 65. While the actual cause of dementia is not fully understood\, many cases are precipitated by cardiovascular restriction\, hearing loss\, lack of sleep\, feelings of isolation\, and stress. In this course we review the multiple ways that the brain and nervous system are impacted by dementia. We introduce practices in mindfulness\, somatic therapy\, yoga and diet that can possibly stave off the onset of the disease. In this course you will learn numerous body-mind centering practices—movement for the neck\, skull and brain; improved listening skills; dietary regulation; and exercise for the respiratory system—that when combined together and practiced over time can counter the risks of dementia. \nCost: $80 \nWhen: September 17 & 18 | 9:00am – 11:00am MT \n\n\nHave your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). SUMMARY:Working Around the Hips | September 2025 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\nThis month we devote all somatic and yoga practices to releasing the strong muscles\, tendons\, and ligaments that surround the hips. In each class we stretch and strengthen the connective tissue to generate fluidity and stability in the hip joints. \n* All classes are held from 9:00 – 10:30am Mountain Time* \nWant to register for individual classes? Click here. \n\nStretching the IT Band – Tues Sept 9th\nThe tension load on the iliotibial band governs the hips’ capacity to stretch and open. In this class we lengthen and strengthen the IT band fibers using many different angles of rotation and pull. \n \nLengthening the Hamstrings – Fri Sept 12th\nOver the course of a lifetime the hamstrings can shorten\, become twisted or fray. In this class we safely slide\, pump\, strengthen and stretch the hamstring fibers. \n \nPumping the Quads – Tues Sept 16th\nMany movement specialists consider the quadriceps to be like a second heart. It is by pumping blood through the quads that we can regulate circulation through the heart and lungs. In this class\, we alternately contract and lengthen the quads to boost heart rate and regulate blood pressure. \n \nStretching the Inner Groins – Fri Sept 19th\nWhen the inner thigh muscles are long\, strong and light\, they provide stability for the hip complex. In this class we stretch and tone the inside leg to balance the pelvis. \n  \nToning the Pelvic Floor – Tues Sept 23rd\nMobility and stability of the pelvic floor musculature is essential to help support hip function. Elasticity and support of  the pelvic floor is known as mulabandha in yoga practice. In this class we alternatively squeeze\, lift\, drop and widen the pelvic floor through movement. \n \nStretching the Glutes – Tues Sept 30th\nThe glute muscles are  powerful stabilizers of  the hips and of upright posture. In this class\, we generate fluidity in the glute muscles through mobilization and stabilization techniques. We do a series of movements to stretch\, unwind and free the three overlapping layers of the glutes. \nCost: $100 + tax\n\n\nHave your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | Finding the Sweet Spot
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nInside every pose there an optimal place of balance. When we find the point of balance\, the “sweet spot”\, all the connective tissues of the body harmonize. Thus any given pose requires precise alignment. When the bones\, joints and fascia harmonize\, the nervous system can let go and the breath move freely. In this class we practice finding the “sweet spot” in each pose. However\, everyone’s structure is unique. Thus the orientation of the bone and movement of the fascia is different for each person. In this class\, we individualize the practice\, tailoring each pose to help best optimize the flow of prana inside. With manual assist and individual guidance\, Surya and Tias provide support for each student to find the sweet spot in their practice. \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. In the midst of an all too busy life\, each class is like a mini retreat. Classes are small and students receive individual attention. The three hour time frame allows students to submerse in the teachings in a way that is not possible in shorter studio classes. Immerse with us on the Prajna Temple grounds for an afternoon of deep practice\, meditation\, and sangha sharing. Take an afternoon to drop into deep practice for your body\, mind\, and spirit. Each immersion will restore\, educate and revitalize. \n*Space is limited* \n\n\n\nWhen: Friday\, August 15 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nCost: $70 + tax \nWhere: Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe\, NM

SUMMARY:Opening the Currents of Prana: Yoga and the Five Vayus | In-Person & Hybrid Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR IN-PERSON IMMERSION\n\nCan’t make it in-person?\nExperience Yoga and the Five Vayus from anywhere with our hybrid online option. Join Tias & Surya in real time via Zoom\, or watch on your own schedule with one-year access to all recordings. You’ll receive the full experience—guided practices\, digital materials\, and access to our vibrant online learning space—all from the comfort of home. \nLearn more about our Hybrid Online Immersions here.\n\n  \nMorning & afternoon hybrid online schedule:\n9:30am – 12:30pm\, and 2:00pm – 5:00pm Mountain Time \n  \nREGISTER HERE FOR HYBRID / LIVESTREAM\n\nOpening the Currents of Prana: Yoga and the Five Vayus\nThe earliest yoga teachings describe the “winds” of the body moving through thousands of tubules\, channels and vessels. In yoga there are five primary winds located in the lower intestine\, solar plexus\, chest\, and head. In this course\, we discover the intersection between contemporary understanding of the biorhythms of the blood and nerve with the older yoga model of the five winds. We use yoga posture\, pranayama\, and somatic practice (SATYA) to activate or mitigate the strength of each vayu. In order to meet the needs of your own physical condition\, we take into account your fatigue levels\, blood pressure\, digestion\, and age. \nWe map the pathway of the inner winds throughout the body in order to bring greater wakefulness and movement to each vayu. Through dharma study\, guided meditation\, yoga nidra\, somatic awareness\, and yoga postures\, this is a transformational week of practice and study. Each day includes seated meditation\, chanting\, and inspirational dharma teaching followed by Somatic Awareness Training (SATYA). We offer both dynamic and restorative yoga practices to harmonize and enhance each vayu. In this intensive we will investigate poems of awakening from the yoga\, Taoist\, and Zen traditions to inspire opening in the physical body. \n\nHow might this workshop inform my teaching\, personal practice\, and my life?\nDecrease Fatigue\n\nIf you’ve been struggling with physical fatigue or low energy levels\, this course can help rejuvenate your body. The practices emphasizes movement that increase tissue hydration and circulation. This helps revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more vibrant and alive.\n\nImprove Digestion\n\nYour digestive health is paramount for overall vitality. If you suffer digestive issues\, it depletes the overall prana. Many of these practices target the gut\, to help improve your digestive fire and capacity for absorption.\n\nManage Stress and Anxiety\n\nIn today’s hectic world\, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by stress and anxiety. Tension often accumulates in the neck\, head and jaw. Working with the vayus will not only release strain in your body but lead to tranquility of mind. By increasing your awareness of your body’s internal signals\, you’ll gain valuable tools to better manage the flow of nerve and blood inside.\n\nAlleviate Chronic Pain and Stiffness\n\nOpening the pathway of the inner winds provides a gentle yet effective approach to relieving tension. Through mindful movements like rocking\, pumping\, and sliding\, you’ll open the internal channels and release areas of tension\, allowing you to move more freely and comfortably.\n\nConnect with Your Body’s Circulatory Flow\n\nIn our busy lives\, it’s easy to become dysregulated. Working with the five vayus offers a chance to regulate your circulatory\, digestive and respiratory systems\, leading to better overall health and a greater sense of well-being.\n\n  \n\nDay 1: Lower Intestine: Apana\nThis first day is the groundwork for the entire study. When the lower spine and its associated organs are healthy\, there is lightness and space in their entire body. This day we explore the way the “inner winds” of nerve and blood pass through the lumbar spine\, sacrum\, pelvis\, and pelvic organs. We do standing poses\, twists\, inversions\, supine poses\, supported backbends\, and pranayama with focus on exhalation. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 1\n  \nDay 2: Solar Plexus: Samana\nThe fire center of the body is difficult to control yet is the source of the body’s inner vitality. Samana is present in the upper abdomen and relates to digestive fire and the third chakra. This area is both the furnace for digestive fire and the place of absorption. This class aims to help release holding in the mid-trunk and solar plexus. In this day we explore uddiyana bandha in the abdominal region using SATYA\, twists\, forward bends\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 2\n  \nDay 3: Heart + Lungs: Prana\nPrana resides in the heart/lungs and is the gateway to the experience of lightness and joy. In this day we concentrate on opening the upper ribs\, sternum\, and collar bones in order to improve elasticity of the lungs. Our emphasis is on releasing restriction in the diaphragm and mobilizing the breath. We explore the ways that grief\, depression\, and joy are regulated by prana. Practice includes backbends\, inversions\, meditation\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 3\n  \nDay 4: Throat + Skull: Udana\nUdana is the upward rising breath located in the throat and head. It is the most difficult of all the vayus to control. In this day\, we will see how stress\, psychological tension\, and emotional strain result in constriction of the neck\, jaw\, and tongue. This class addresses the effects of jalandhara bandha related to the throat chakra. We do inversions\, supported backbends\, meditation\, chanting\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 4\n  \nDay 5: Circulation: Vyana\nThis vayu is the most healing of all the internal winds. It involves the circulation of blood through the organs\, glands\, and tissues of the body. Vyana\, the “dispersing wind\,” promotes meditative awareness\, serenity\, and deep rest. We do floor work\, supported poses\, savasana\, yoga nidra\, and meditation. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 5\n\nWhen: August 10 – 14 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time\n  \nCost:\n\nIn-Person Immersion in Santa Fe: Early Bird Rate $995 + tax until July 10th\, or $1\,095 + tax after (includes daily lunches)\nHybrid Online Immersion: $725 + tax\n\nDrop-In to Individual Days Online: $145 per day\n\n\n\n  \n\n**Registration includes one year of access to the course materials \n**Registration for the in-person immersion includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Anatomy of the Vayus is good for 30-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track and our 300/500-Hour Teacher Training Program

SUMMARY:Embodying the Five Elements | August 2025 6-Class Online Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\nIn classical yoga\, the body is thought to be made up of five primary elements—earth\, water\, fire\, air and space. In this month of classes\, we explore how the elements relate to the breath\, the nerves\, the bones and the skin. Each practice is devoted to embodying the energetic qualities of the elements. \n* All classes are held from 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time* \n*Want to register for individual classes? Click here.* \n\nFri August 8th – Earth\, Sky\, and Space\nIn this class we begin with the well known Gayatri Mantra that celebrates the elements as the foundation for consciousness. We chant the Gayatri while embodying the elements. Through lifting\, dropping extending and retracting movements we sense how all five elements combine to move awareness through the body. \nTues August 12th – Earth Bound\nThe earth element is all about ground\, rootedness\, weight\, presence and a sense of belonging. In this class we bring the qualities of earth into the bones and connective tissues by practicing on the horizontal. \nFri August 15th – The Way of Water\nStaying fluid is key to health\, vitality and a feeling of joy in the body. This class is designed to help irrigate blood and lymph throughout the tissues of the body. We practice SATYA\, supine and standing positions to increase circulation. \nFri August 22nd – The Fire Inside\nThe element of fire governs all electrical activity through the nerves. It has the quality of quickness\, excitation\, pulsation\, tremble\, suddenness and oscillation. In this class we trace the pathway of kinetic flow through the tissues as the fire element. \nTues August 26th – Airborne\nWithin the five elements\, air governs sensation in the nervous system. Prana and the air element move in currents\, gusts\, brushing movements and ripples. In this class we work with the air (wind) element by addressing the flow of sensation in the connective tissues\, organs and skin. \nFri August 29th – Space\nThe element of space pervades the entire body and is the foundation for all the other elements. Space has the quality of lightness\, serenity\, expansion\, boundlessness and openness. In this class we bring a sense of spaciousness to the entire body. \nCost: $100 + tax \n\n\nHave your props handy! SUMMARY:SATYA 1 | In-Person & Hybrid Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR IN-PERSON IMMERSION\n\nCan’t make it in-person?\nOur SATYA 1 immersion is perfect for first-time students or returning practitioners looking to reconnect with the subtle body. We practice fine articulated movement to open new pathways of perception and feeling. Done mostly on the floor\, SATYA involves sliding\, gliding\, stretching\, unwinding\, and core-building movements. The movements are a powerful tonic to reduce fatigue\, strain\, and holding in the body. The SATYA movements aim to increase circulation throughout all the tissues of the body. In this way\, SATYA acts as a “prana pump” to oxygenate the bloodstream and irrigate the tissues. \nWhile yoga today often emphasizes the “doing” of a posture\, SATYA encourages “being” in a movement with heightened awareness. Our aim is to tap an inner potency and to help support the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to self-regulate. All movements increase proprioceptive awareness and neuroplasticity. This practice is a therapeutic\, “yin” tonic for the body. \nSATYA is very similar to contemporary yoga that focuses on vinyasa\, combining breath with movement. In SATYA we synthesize breath with movement but without force. Done on the floor\, SATYA supports connective tissue mobilization. Deep inner listening is required to heal both mind and body. To that end\, SATYA builds meditative awareness while increasing physical vitality. Thus SATYA is mindfulness training through movement. As a movement meditation\, SATYA builds vipassana (insight) into the sensory-motor pathways of the body. This practice builds deep relaxation and clarity. The SATYA movements replenish the body by “soaking” the tissues. Thus SATYA movements can be done in conjunction with savasana and yoga nidra. \nThis training covers the foundational movements of the SATYA practice. This week will revitalize your own body by reducing fatigue and increasing mobility in your fascia. At the same time\, you will learn the key principles of the SATYA practice for the classroom. For yoga teachers who work therapeutically or with aging populations\, SATYA is a simple yet highly effective system to help safely mobilize and repair the connective tissues. \nEach morning includes guided meditation\, sound resonance\, dharma study\, visualization training\, and SATYA practice. We do yoga postures following SATYA to stabilize the joints and tissues of the body. Tias teaches anatomy of through an array of colorful slides. We study the muscular-skeletal system\, the organs\, nerves\, and glands. Tias also integrates images from nature\, sacred architecture\, and art to describe the energetic flow of prana through the body. Tias brings his background in Sanskrit\, cranial-sacral study\, yoga philosophy\, and mystical anatomy to provide a transformational week of practice and study. \n\nCourse of Study\n\ncultivate essential sensory-motor awareness\nmobilize the joints and build bi-lateral symmetry in the body\naddress low back pain\ndesign fundamental sequences that include both SATYA and asana\ndiscover the importance of spirals and counter spirals\n“it’s all about the joints”: working with tendons\, ligaments\, and joint spaces\nbeing in the “Pause”: the importance of not-doing\nusing gravity to help center inward\nre-educating the neural-muscular system and brain pathways\nlearn how to “ride the edge” through small movements\nlearn the healing potential of the movements and their effects on the myofascial system\nreduce fatigue and exhaustion\nreduce the effects of speed trapped in the body\nsense and feel the connection of the iliopsoas muscle to your spine\ndiscover how to use the SATYA movements to stretch the myofascial sheaths\ninvestigate the most current myofascial and brain information based on current research\n\n  \n*SATYA I is the first course of a 3-part 150-Hour SATYA Certification Program \n*SATYA 1 is a prerequisite for SATYA 2 and SATYA 3 \n\nWhen: August 3 – 7 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time\n  \nCost: \n\nIn-Person Immersion in Santa Fe: $1\,398 + tax (includes daily lunches)\nHybrid Online Immersion: $1\,050 + tax\n\n  \n\n**Registration includes one year of access to the course materials \n**Registration for the in-person immersion includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Your registration also comes with our August Series of 6 online monthly classes! \n**SATYA 1 is good for 45-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track and our 300/500-Hour Teacher Training Program

SUMMARY:Prajna Yoga Summer Immersion on Cape Cod
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nJoin Tias & Surya for another fantastic summer immersion on Cape Cod!\n  \nThis July while practicing right on the Atlantic Ocean in the magical setting of Cape Cod\, we focus on ways to embody more fluidity inside. All practices aim to support the body’s fluid tidal rhythms\, pulses and wave-like motion. We explore the connection between states of yogic absorption (samadhi) and equilibrium of the bodily fluids.\n\n\n\nThe Power of the Tail\nFriday\, July 18 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nThe base of the spine is the source of propulsion for the whole body. The tail is invested with the primordial impulse of movement from sperm to fish and from the lizard to the flight of a falcon. In yoga\, we say that “the mind is in the tail”. In this way most yoga poses find their root support in the first two chakras. In this class\, we mobilize spinal energy by initiating motion of the sacrum\, coccyx and surrounding musculature. Tias and Surya facilitate students individually via personal guidance and manual assistance. \n  \nAmplifying the Rise and Fall of Breath\nFriday\, July 18 | 6:00 – 8:00pm \nLike the ocean tides\, the breath continuously ebbs and flows. In this class we support the inherent motion of the diaphragm in all poses by following a wave-like motion of the breath. At times the breath will become very shallow (like low tide) while at other times it expands and widens (like high tide). In the practice of pranayama\, we take the approach that the breath cannot be forced or made to go in one direction\, but rather support a natural\, tidal movement of respiration. \n  \nStanding in the Bones: Yoga for the Skeletal System\nSaturday\, July 19 | 10:00am – 1:00pm \nIn this class we build strength and vitality in the soft tissues of the bones. By load bearing in the bones we reduce the effects of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis\, increase stamina and find support for the spine. In this class we do postures that release the hip joints\, knees and ankles and we practice standing poses to build resilience in the bones. \n  \nTwists to Improve Circulation\nSaturday\, July 19 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nThis class involves twisting movements for the spine\, organs\, muscles and skin. Through supine\, seated and standing poses come prepared to release blockages in the gut and spinal musculature. Twists help to squeeze\, flush and replenish the tissues of the body. They allow the breath to flow deeper\, they revitalize the blood and boost energy. After moving through a sequence of twists\, we practice pranayama to open the lungs and chest. \n\n  \nWhen: July 18 – 19\, 2025\n  \n\nWhere: The Church of the Holy Spirit | 204 Monument Rd\, Orleans\, MA 02653\n  \nCost: $65 2-hr Single Session\, $75 3-hr Single Session\, $270 Full Immersion (all 4 sessions)\n\n*Please bring with you a yoga mat\, 2 yoga blocks\, 1 yoga blanket and 8-10 ft yoga strap.

SUMMARY:Fascia Flossing | July 2025 Online 6-Class Series
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\n\nThis month we continue the practice of “neural flossing” for the connective tissue. A practice of “fascia flossing”  helps loosen the soft tissues that envelop the nerves\, brings elasticity to the muscles and opens the joints. In each class\, we pump\, stretch\, and “tease” the fascia to facilitate neural glide and improve range of motion in the connective tissue. \n* All classes are held from 9:00 – 10:30am Mountain Time* \n*Want to register for individual classes? Click here.* \n\nTuesday\, July 8 | Psoas Flossing I\nThe iliopsoas muscle is the core link between the spine\, pelvis and leg. We devote the entire class to facilitating glide within the psoas muscle. Using supine\, side lying\, prone\, and standing positions\, we slide\, pump\, rock\, stretch and spiral the psoas muscle to help expand the inner breath. \nFriday\, July 11 | Psoas Flossing II\n We continue our mobilization of the psoas using small subtle movements to facilitate the flow of blood and nerve that transit through the lower abdomen. With the support of a belly bolster we “floss” the psoas fibers in different directions in order to  free up restriction in the deep abdominal compartment. \nTuesday\, July 15 | Spinal Flossing\nThe  central channel of the spine conducts prana to all tissues of the body. In this class we mobilize the entire spine by “flossing” the soft tissues that attach directly to the spine. including the paraspinal muscles. This practice helps reduce asymmetries in the paraspinal muscles\,  the spinal ligaments\, spinal nerves and discs. \nTuesday\, July 22 | Flossing the Ribs and Diaphragm\nIt is common for the ribs to get pulled down\, torqued or twisted due to repetitive strain or trauma. In this class we mobilize the fascia around the ribs\, intercostal muscles and diaphragm. By pumping\, squeezing and flossing the fascia around the rib\, we improve the flow of breath. At the end of practice we do pranayama to expand the lung. \nFriday\, July 25 | Inner Arm\, Forearm and Wrist Floss\nThe nerves that activate the hand and wrist come from the neck\, passing down through the inside arm. In this class we slide\, loosen\, flex and floss the inside channel of the arm to facilitate nerve flow into the hand and wrist. This relieves neuropathy in the hand as well as carpal tunnel syndrome and osteoarthritis. \nTuesday\, July 29 | Flossing the Tongue\, Jaw\, and Throat\nIt is common for strain to accumulate in the throat and jaw due to stress\, dental work\, improper sleep posture and repetitive strain in the neck. In this class\, we facilitate glide in the nerves that pass through the shoulder\,  neck and jaw. We do specific techniques to “floss” the fascia around the jaw\, tongue and face. \nCost: $100 + tax \n\n\nHave your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy.\nPlease note that all classes are in Mountain Time.\nCan’t join us at 9am MT because of your schedule or time zone? We’ve got you covered! Reserve your seat and all video recordings will be uploaded to your course curriculum to watch when you can\, available to stream for 30 days.

SUMMARY:The Mystery of the Light: Summer Solstice Retreat | Immersion in Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nOn the Solstice we come together to harness the once a year potency of the light. Through meditation\, movement and mindfulness we yoke to the strongest ray of the sun\, taking it down through the crown of our head\, bathing every cell in our bodies. \nIn the mid summer solstice\, we reach the apex of the sky. As the sun moves toward its zenith we stay out ’till the late hour\, dining\, lingering\, warmed by the late light. Farthest from the black of winter\, we align to the long light of the sun seeming to never die in the Western sky. Most of all we commune together to bask in the warmth of joy. We stay out late\, our hearts filled with radiance and rise early the next morning\, sit facing East\, ready to receive the all penetrating light of the solstice\, may it fill every nook and cranny of our being. \nSummer is the perfect time to uplift your practice and deepen your soul’s journey. In the summer we celebrate the effulgence of the season as we weave together yoga postures\, meditation\, SATYA\, and outdoor walking meditation. Each day we share\, commune\, and celebrate our connection as a sangha while also having solo time. \nIn the mid-summer\, we take in the bounty from the season of growth. Each day includes a meal from Surya’s Kitchen with ingredients coming from Santa Fe’s regional farmer’s market. Whether in movement\, stillness\, or eating\, this retreat brings true nourishment. Through shared practice\, this retreat renews a sense of confidence\, courage\, and hope to realize new capacities for compassionate action in the world. \n  \nWHEN: June 12 – 16\, 2025 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time \nWHERE: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe \nCOST:   \n\nFull Retreat: $1\,095 + tax\nDrop-In: $220 + tax per day\n\nRegister for Day 1\nRegister for Day 2\nRegister for Day 3\nRegister for Day 4\nRegister for Day 5\n\n\n\n\n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Summer Solstice Retreat is good for 30 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program

SUMMARY:The Belly Brain & The Cranial Brain | Retreat in Northampton\, UK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nDeepen Your Practice\, Rejuvenate Your Soul\nThe belly brain and cranial brain are remarkably similar in structure. Both are comprised of multiple coils\, loops and convolutions\, packed into a small area. Both are responsible for absorption\, assimilation\, and the integration of many bits of information. \n  \nIn a community setting\, we: \n\nStudy the complex relationship between these two brains including the important synergy between the gut chakra and the cranial chakra.\nCompare and contrast the mystical anatomy of the yoga body with contemporary research on the microbiome\, the vagus nerve and the neurotransmitters.\nTake into consideration diet\, emotional health\, the stress response\, and one’s capacity for concentration.\nInvestigate how coherency between the cranial brain and the belly brain is essential for wellness and how in yoga\, this synthesis leads to states of deep absorption (samadhi).\n\n  \nWith the power of this land\, the healing waters\, strength of community\, and nourishment of slowing down\, we explore the profound connection between the belly brain and cranial brain through somatic practices\, asana\, pranayama\, and yoga nidra. \n\nRETREAT SCHEDULE:\nFriday\, May 23: \n\n4:00 – 5:00pm | Check in to Accommodation\n5:30 – 7:30pm | Evening class\n\nSaturday\, May 24: \n\n9.30am – 12.30pm\n4.30pm to 6.30pm\n\nSunday\, May 25: \n\n9.30am – 12.30pm\n4.30pm to 6.30pm\n\nMonday\, May 26: \n\n9.30am – 12.30pm\n\n  \n\n\nWHAT’S INCLUDED:\n\nAll workshops with Tias & Surya\n3-nights’ accommodation\nAll meals & refreshments (locally sourced & nourishing)\nA Heritage Walk with Lord & Lady Northampton\nScheduled access to Castle Ashby Gardens\n\n  \n\n\n\n**Belly Brain & Cranial Brain is good for 10-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300-Hour Program.
