SUMMARY:SATYA 1 | Opening the Fascia | In-Person & Livestream Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE: IN-PERSON IMMERSION\nREGISTER HERE: LIVESTREAM ONLINE IMMERSION\nUK STUDENTS REGISTER HERE\n\nSensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement\nCourse Description\nIn a totally unique way\, the SATYA practice opens doorways into the interior\, providing new pathways of perception and feeling. It guides students away from “doing” movement and toward sensing\, receiving and “being” movement. As an adjunct to yoga practice\, somatic awareness leads to embodied wisdom. \nSATYA is Prajna Yoga’s “yin” style practice. All the movements are done on the floor in a flowing fashion\, without force. The SATYA movements cultivate inner listening and heighten proprioceptive awareness. This awareness is the body’s innate intelligence. By increasing our capacity for sensory awareness\, we become more sentient\, wakeful beings in the world. The exercises are non-weight bearing and involve sliding\, gliding and circular movements to reduce myo-fascial holding in the body. \nThe SATYA training\, along with yoga postures\, involves neural-muscular re-education. Like in vinyasa training\, breath is combined with movement in order to deepen the respiratory rhythm. All movements support profound physical rest of the body and prepare for savasana and yoga nidra (the yogic sleep). \nOur SATYA 1 immersion is perfect for first-time students or returning practitioners looking to reconnect with the subtle body. Experience SATYA 1 from anywhere with our livestream online option. Join Tias & Surya in real time via Zoom\, or watch on your own schedule with one-year access to all recordings. You’ll receive the full experience—guided practices\, digital materials\, and access to our vibrant online learning space—all from the comfort of home. \n\nLivestream Online\nThe in-person immersion (in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, USA) will be livestreamed.  You have the option to attend live via Zoom or watch the recordings on your schedule. \nThe hybrid immersions bring the full depth of the Prajna Yoga experience directly to you\, wherever you are in the world. SUMMARY:Acupressure & Yoga | Therapeutics Training in Orleans\, MA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nAcupressure and Yoga: Gateway into Deeper Practice and Understanding\n  \nJoin Tias and Surya for a deeply rejuvenating immersion providing the essential knowledge on how to use pressure point stimulation in any therapeutic context to heal the body.\n\nIn yoga and Ayurveda\, there are vital acupressure points located on the surface of the body that connect to the energetic circuitry of nerve and blood. In this course we detail the 21 most important acupressure points (known as marma points in Ayurveda) that can be directly stimulated through yoga postures. Via pressure point therapy\, we activate the flow of prana at each marma point to improve circulation through the skin\, fascia and organs. We study the anatomical location of each point\, comparing and contrasting the marma points of Ayurveda to the acupuncture points used in Chinese Medicine. \nEach day includes pressure point release via somatic practices (SATYA) and yoga postures\, including the direct stimulation of bolsters\, blocks\, the floor and belts. Each day we cover ways to impart direct stimulation on the points using small physio balls. In dyads\, we use restorative poses such as supta baddha konasana\, savasana\, and leg-up-the-wall pose combined with manual pressure point release. Each day\, Tias and Surya weave together many rich and delightful teachings including poems of awakening\, guided meditation\, somatic awareness and chant. \n  \nWhen: September 24 – 27 | 9:30am – 5:00pm\n  \nLocation: The Church of the Holy Spirit | 204 Monument Rd\, Orleans\, MA 02653\n  \nCost: $765 before August 1st\, $840 after August 1st\n  \n*Single day passes available by request! $220 per day\, please email the studio (petra@orleansyoga.com) to register. \n*Registration includes manual with extensive imagery\, poetry\, chanting\, Sanskrit and anatomy. \n\n**Acupressure & Yoga is good for 28-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300-Hour Program.

SUMMARY:Opening the Currents of Prana: Yoga and the Five Vayus | In-Person & Hybrid Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR IN-PERSON IMMERSION\n\nCan’t make it in-person?\nExperience Yoga and the Five Vayus from anywhere with our hybrid online option. Join Tias & Surya in real time via Zoom\, or watch on your own schedule with one-year access to all recordings. You’ll receive the full experience—guided practices\, digital materials\, and access to our vibrant online learning space—all from the comfort of home. \nLearn more about our Hybrid Online Immersions here.\n\n  \nMorning & afternoon hybrid online schedule:\n9:30am – 12:30pm\, and 2:00pm – 5:00pm Mountain Time \n  \nREGISTER HERE FOR HYBRID / LIVESTREAM\n\nOpening the Currents of Prana: Yoga and the Five Vayus\nThe earliest yoga teachings describe the “winds” of the body moving through thousands of tubules\, channels and vessels. In yoga there are five primary winds located in the lower intestine\, solar plexus\, chest\, and head. In this course\, we discover the intersection between contemporary understanding of the biorhythms of the blood and nerve with the older yoga model of the five winds. We use yoga posture\, pranayama\, and somatic practice (SATYA) to activate or mitigate the strength of each vayu. In order to meet the needs of your own physical condition\, we take into account your fatigue levels\, blood pressure\, digestion\, and age. \nWe map the pathway of the inner winds throughout the body in order to bring greater wakefulness and movement to each vayu. Through dharma study\, guided meditation\, yoga nidra\, somatic awareness\, and yoga postures\, this is a transformational week of practice and study. Each day includes seated meditation\, chanting\, and inspirational dharma teaching followed by Somatic Awareness Training (SATYA). We offer both dynamic and restorative yoga practices to harmonize and enhance each vayu. In this intensive we will investigate poems of awakening from the yoga\, Taoist\, and Zen traditions to inspire opening in the physical body. \n\nHow might this workshop inform my teaching\, personal practice\, and my life?\nDecrease Fatigue\n\nIf you’ve been struggling with physical fatigue or low energy levels\, this course can help rejuvenate your body. The practices emphasizes movement that increase tissue hydration and circulation. This helps revitalize your energy and leave you feeling more vibrant and alive.\n\nImprove Digestion\n\nYour digestive health is paramount for overall vitality. If you suffer digestive issues\, it depletes the overall prana. Many of these practices target the gut\, to help improve your digestive fire and capacity for absorption.\n\nManage Stress and Anxiety\n\nIn today’s hectic world\, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by stress and anxiety. Tension often accumulates in the neck\, head and jaw. Working with the vayus will not only release strain in your body but lead to tranquility of mind. By increasing your awareness of your body’s internal signals\, you’ll gain valuable tools to better manage the flow of nerve and blood inside.\n\nAlleviate Chronic Pain and Stiffness\n\nOpening the pathway of the inner winds provides a gentle yet effective approach to relieving tension. Through mindful movements like rocking\, pumping\, and sliding\, you’ll open the internal channels and release areas of tension\, allowing you to move more freely and comfortably.\n\nConnect with Your Body’s Circulatory Flow\n\nIn our busy lives\, it’s easy to become dysregulated. Working with the five vayus offers a chance to regulate your circulatory\, digestive and respiratory systems\, leading to better overall health and a greater sense of well-being.\n\n  \n\nDay 1: Lower Intestine: Apana\nThis first day is the groundwork for the entire study. When the lower spine and its associated organs are healthy\, there is lightness and space in their entire body. This day we explore the way the “inner winds” of nerve and blood pass through the lumbar spine\, sacrum\, pelvis\, and pelvic organs. We do standing poses\, twists\, inversions\, supine poses\, supported backbends\, and pranayama with focus on exhalation. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 1\n  \nDay 2: Solar Plexus: Samana\nThe fire center of the body is difficult to control yet is the source of the body’s inner vitality. Samana is present in the upper abdomen and relates to digestive fire and the third chakra. This area is both the furnace for digestive fire and the place of absorption. This class aims to help release holding in the mid-trunk and solar plexus. In this day we explore uddiyana bandha in the abdominal region using SATYA\, twists\, forward bends\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 2\n  \nDay 3: Heart + Lungs: Prana\nPrana resides in the heart/lungs and is the gateway to the experience of lightness and joy. In this day we concentrate on opening the upper ribs\, sternum\, and collar bones in order to improve elasticity of the lungs. Our emphasis is on releasing restriction in the diaphragm and mobilizing the breath. We explore the ways that grief\, depression\, and joy are regulated by prana. Practice includes backbends\, inversions\, meditation\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 3\n  \nDay 4: Throat + Skull: Udana\nUdana is the upward rising breath located in the throat and head. It is the most difficult of all the vayus to control. In this day\, we will see how stress\, psychological tension\, and emotional strain result in constriction of the neck\, jaw\, and tongue. This class addresses the effects of jalandhara bandha related to the throat chakra. We do inversions\, supported backbends\, meditation\, chanting\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 4\n  \nDay 5: Circulation: Vyana\nThis vayu is the most healing of all the internal winds. It involves the circulation of blood through the organs\, glands\, and tissues of the body. Vyana\, the “dispersing wind\,” promotes meditative awareness\, serenity\, and deep rest. We do floor work\, supported poses\, savasana\, yoga nidra\, and meditation. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 5\n\nWhen: August 10 – 14 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time\n  \nCost:\n\nIn-Person Immersion in Santa Fe: Early Bird Rate $995 + tax until July 10th\, or $1\,095 + tax after (includes daily lunches)\nHybrid Online Immersion: $725 + tax\n\nDrop-In to Individual Days Online: $145 per day\n\n\n\n  \n\n**Registration includes one year of access to the course materials \n**Registration for the in-person immersion includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Anatomy of the Vayus is good for 30-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track and our 300/500-Hour Teacher Training Program

We practice fine articulated movement to open new pathways of perception and feeling. Done mostly on the floor\, SATYA involves sliding\, gliding\, stretching\, unwinding\, and core-building movements. The movements are a powerful tonic to reduce fatigue\, strain\, and holding in the body. The SATYA movements aim to increase circulation throughout all the tissues of the body. In this way\, SATYA acts as a “prana pump” to oxygenate the bloodstream and irrigate the tissues. \nWhile yoga today often emphasizes the “doing” of a posture\, SATYA encourages “being” in a movement with heightened awareness. Our aim is to tap an inner potency and to help support the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to self-regulate. All movements increase proprioceptive awareness and neuroplasticity. This practice is a therapeutic\, “yin” tonic for the body. \nSATYA is very similar to contemporary yoga that focuses on vinyasa\, combining breath with movement. In SATYA we synthesize breath with movement but without force. Done on the floor\, SATYA supports connective tissue mobilization. Deep inner listening is required to heal both mind and body. To that end\, SATYA builds meditative awareness while increasing physical vitality. Thus SATYA is mindfulness training through movement. As a movement meditation\, SATYA builds vipassana (insight) into the sensory-motor pathways of the body. This practice builds deep relaxation and clarity. The SATYA movements replenish the body by “soaking” the tissues. Thus SATYA movements can be done in conjunction with savasana and yoga nidra. \nThis training covers the foundational movements of the SATYA practice. This week will revitalize your own body by reducing fatigue and increasing mobility in your fascia. At the same time\, you will learn the key principles of the SATYA practice for the classroom. For yoga teachers who work therapeutically or with aging populations\, SATYA is a simple yet highly effective system to help safely mobilize and repair the connective tissues. \nEach morning includes guided meditation\, sound resonance\, dharma study\, visualization training\, and SATYA practice. We do yoga postures following SATYA to stabilize the joints and tissues of the body. Tias teaches anatomy of through an array of colorful slides. We study the muscular-skeletal system\, the organs\, nerves\, and glands. Tias also integrates images from nature\, sacred architecture\, and art to describe the energetic flow of prana through the body. Tias brings his background in Sanskrit\, cranial-sacral study\, yoga philosophy\, and mystical anatomy to provide a transformational week of practice and study. \n\nCourse of Study\n\ncultivate essential sensory-motor awareness\nmobilize the joints and build bi-lateral symmetry in the body\naddress low back pain\ndesign fundamental sequences that include both SATYA and asana\ndiscover the importance of spirals and counter spirals\n“it’s all about the joints”: working with tendons\, ligaments\, and joint spaces\nbeing in the “Pause”: the importance of not-doing\nusing gravity to help center inward\nre-educating the neural-muscular system and brain pathways\nlearn how to “ride the edge” through small movements\nlearn the healing potential of the movements and their effects on the myofascial system\nreduce fatigue and exhaustion\nreduce the effects of speed trapped in the body\nsense and feel the connection of the iliopsoas muscle to your spine\ndiscover how to use the SATYA movements to stretch the myofascial sheaths\ninvestigate the most current myofascial and brain information based on current research\n\n  \n*SATYA I is the first course of a 3-part 150-Hour SATYA Certification Program \n*SATYA 1 is a prerequisite for SATYA 2 and SATYA 3 \n\nWhen: August 3 – 7 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time\n  \nCost: \n\nIn-Person Immersion in Santa Fe: $1\,398 + tax (includes daily lunches)\nHybrid Online Immersion: $1\,050 + tax\n\n  \n\n**Registration includes one year of access to the course materials \n**Registration for the in-person immersion includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Your registration also comes with our August Series of 6 online monthly classes! \n**SATYA 1 is good for 45-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track and our 300/500-Hour Teacher Training Program

SUMMARY:Prajna Yoga Summer Immersion on Cape Cod
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nJoin Tias & Surya for another fantastic summer immersion on Cape Cod!\n  \nThis July while practicing right on the Atlantic Ocean in the magical setting of Cape Cod\, we focus on ways to embody more fluidity inside. All practices aim to support the body’s fluid tidal rhythms\, pulses and wave-like motion. We explore the connection between states of yogic absorption (samadhi) and equilibrium of the bodily fluids.\n\n\n\nThe Power of the Tail\nFriday\, July 18 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nThe base of the spine is the source of propulsion for the whole body. The tail is invested with the primordial impulse of movement from sperm to fish and from the lizard to the flight of a falcon. In yoga\, we say that “the mind is in the tail”. In this way most yoga poses find their root support in the first two chakras. In this class\, we mobilize spinal energy by initiating motion of the sacrum\, coccyx and surrounding musculature. Tias and Surya facilitate students individually via personal guidance and manual assistance. \n  \nAmplifying the Rise and Fall of Breath\nFriday\, July 18 | 6:00 – 8:00pm \nLike the ocean tides\, the breath continuously ebbs and flows. In this class we support the inherent motion of the diaphragm in all poses by following a wave-like motion of the breath. At times the breath will become very shallow (like low tide) while at other times it expands and widens (like high tide). In the practice of pranayama\, we take the approach that the breath cannot be forced or made to go in one direction\, but rather support a natural\, tidal movement of respiration. \n  \nStanding in the Bones: Yoga for the Skeletal System\nSaturday\, July 19 | 10:00am – 1:00pm \nIn this class we build strength and vitality in the soft tissues of the bones. By load bearing in the bones we reduce the effects of osteoporosis and osteoarthritis\, increase stamina and find support for the spine. In this class we do postures that release the hip joints\, knees and ankles and we practice standing poses to build resilience in the bones. \n  \nTwists to Improve Circulation\nSaturday\, July 19 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nThis class involves twisting movements for the spine\, organs\, muscles and skin. Through supine\, seated and standing poses come prepared to release blockages in the gut and spinal musculature. Twists help to squeeze\, flush and replenish the tissues of the body. They allow the breath to flow deeper\, they revitalize the blood and boost energy. After moving through a sequence of twists\, we practice pranayama to open the lungs and chest. \n\n  \nWhen: July 18 – 19\, 2025\n  \n\nWhere: The Church of the Holy Spirit | 204 Monument Rd\, Orleans\, MA 02653\n  \nCost: $65 2-hr Single Session\, $75 3-hr Single Session\, $270 Full Immersion (all 4 sessions)\n\n*Please bring with you a yoga mat\, 2 yoga blocks\, 1 yoga blanket and 8-10 ft yoga strap.

SUMMARY:The Belly Brain & The Cranial Brain | Retreat in Northampton\, UK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nDeepen Your Practice\, Rejuvenate Your Soul\nThe belly brain and cranial brain are remarkably similar in structure. Both are comprised of multiple coils\, loops and convolutions\, packed into a small area. Both are responsible for absorption\, assimilation\, and the integration of many bits of information. \n  \nIn a community setting\, we: \n\nStudy the complex relationship between these two brains including the important synergy between the gut chakra and the cranial chakra.\nCompare and contrast the mystical anatomy of the yoga body with contemporary research on the microbiome\, the vagus nerve and the neurotransmitters.\nTake into consideration diet\, emotional health\, the stress response\, and one’s capacity for concentration.\nInvestigate how coherency between the cranial brain and the belly brain is essential for wellness and how in yoga\, this synthesis leads to states of deep absorption (samadhi).\n\n  \nWith the power of this land\, the healing waters\, strength of community\, and nourishment of slowing down\, we explore the profound connection between the belly brain and cranial brain through somatic practices\, asana\, pranayama\, and yoga nidra. \n\nRETREAT SCHEDULE:\nFriday\, May 23: \n\n4:00 – 5:00pm | Check in to Accommodation\n5:30 – 7:30pm | Evening class\n\nSaturday\, May 24: \n\n9.30am – 12.30pm\n4.30pm to 6.30pm\n\nSunday\, May 25: \n\n9.30am – 12.30pm\n4.30pm to 6.30pm\n\nMonday\, May 26: \n\n9.30am – 12.30pm\n\n  \n\n\nWHAT’S INCLUDED:\n\nAll workshops with Tias & Surya\n3-nights’ accommodation\nAll meals & refreshments (locally sourced & nourishing)\nA Heritage Walk with Lord & Lady Northampton\nScheduled access to Castle Ashby Gardens\n\n  \n\n\n\n**Belly Brain & Cranial Brain is good for 10-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300-Hour Program.

SUMMARY:Prajna Yoga Immersion in Dublin\, Ireland
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nYoga for the Internal Organs\n*For Yoga Teachers!* \nFriday\, May 16 | 6:00 – 8:30pm \nWhile most yoga classes aim to simply stretch and strengthen the musculature\, this class focuses on specific techniques to direct the flow of prana (blood and lymph) through the internal organs. When the organs perform optimally\, there is radiant vitality in the body. Many people suffer from stagnation in the viscera due to excess sitting\, dietary imbalances\, and emotional holding. This can lead to sluggishness\, stagnation\, and the unwanted growth of tumors and cysts. In this unique course\, we look at the way a yoga practice can promote health and vital function within the internal organs. We review the anatomical position and function of each organ and utilize somatic movements and yoga postures to wash\, rinse\, and drain fluids through each organ. \n  \nCentering In\nSaturday\, May 17 | 12:30 – 3:00pm \nThe region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in Japan\, the dantian in China\, and related to the second chakra in yoga\, it is the source of the breath and the origin of the deep life force. In this class we initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions\, we stretch\, expand\, and strengthen the tissues of the lower abdomen. \n  \nPurifying the Throat Chakra\nSaturday\, May 17 | 4:00 – 6:30pm \nOf all seven chakras\, the throat is most delicate and vulnerable. It is common for physical\, emotional\, and psychic strain to accumulate in the throat. For this reason\, we take care to loosen the tissues of the upper shoulders\, neck\, and throat. We practice movements on the floor to gently pump the tissues in the neck followed by postures to irrigate blood and lymph into the throat. Without clamping or clenching\, we emphasize the movement of the throat seal (jalandhara bandha) to lightly squeeze the area surrounding the thyroid. Through chant and sound vibration we build internal resonance in the throat in order to purify the throat chakra. \n  \nYoking the Shoulder Girdle\nSunday\, May 18 | 10:00am – 12:30pm \nIt is all too common for the shoulders to collapse and displace forward due to repetitive strain\, overuse of the arms\, and too much “ keyboard-asana”! This can result in neck pain\, tension between the shoulder blades and numbness in the arm and hand. The aim of this class is to reduce shoulder and neck restriction and to effectively yoke the shoulder blades onto the back. We will practice joint mobilization techniques to help release strain from the shoulders and yoga posture to open the shoulder girdle. \n  \nWhere: yogahub Dublin\n\nCost:\n\n€69 for individual workshops\n€179 pre-sale for the entire weekend\, or\n€229 early bird price for the whole weekend\, €269 after April 16

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | Building Your Inner Fire
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nThe belly center\, the third chakra\, is the hearth of the body. In yoga we carefully stoke the fire within yet unfortunately there is often constriction in the gut due to stress and emotional holding. This class focuses on opening the belly through dynamic and passive poses. We emphasize twists and supported backbends to ignite the inner fire and practice pranayama to spread the light of prana throughout the body. \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. In the midst of an all too busy life\, each class is like a mini retreat. Classes are small and students receive individual attention. The three hour time frame allows students to submerse in the teachings in a way that is not possible in shorter studio classes. Immerse with us on the Prajna Temple grounds for an afternoon of deep practice\, meditation\, and sangha sharing. Take an afternoon to drop into deep practice for your body\, mind\, and spirit. Each immersion will restore\, educate and revitalize. \n*Space is limited* \n\n  \n\nWhen: Friday\, May 2 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nCost: $70 + tax \nWhere: Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe\, NM

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | Preparing the Psoas for Pranayama
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nMost anatomists deem the iliopsoas muscle in the abdomen to be the quintessential muscle in the body for stability. The psoas is a muscle of respiration\, as it attaches directly to the diaphragm. It is essential to providing support and integrity to the lower spine and is considered the most core muscle of the body. In this class\, Tias begins with slide work to outline the anatomical structures associated with the iliopsoas. In practice we alternately lengthen\, flex\, and revolve the iliopsoas prior to the practice of supine and seated pranayama. \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. In the midst of an all too busy life\, each class is like a mini retreat. Classes are small and students receive individual attention. SUMMARY:Prajna Yoga Immersion in Berkeley\, CA
DESCRIPTION:Join Tias & Surya for a very special weekend immersion at Green Yogi Telegraph in Berkeley\, CA!\n\nEssential Practice for Women with Surya\nFriday\, February 14 | 3:00 – 5:00pm\nFor all women\, vitality and health require attention to the cyclical changes that take place over the course of a lifetime. While practicing yoga\, it is essential that each of us honor our unique physiology by listening to the inherent changes that take place within. By attending to our natural biorhythms\, we tailor yoga practices specifically for the changes in our levels of energy\, sleep patterns\, and hormonal rhythms. \nCost: $65 \n \n  \nSomatic Awareness for Yoga: Breath Waves\, Tides and Flow\nSaturday\, February 15 | 11:00am – 1:30pm\nIn this class we support the inherent motion of the diaphragm in all poses by following a wave-like motion of the breath. Sometimes the breath becomes very shallow (low tide) while at other times it expands and widens (high tide). In this class we do somatic movements and yoga postures to pump the breath in wave-like patterns. We take the approach that the breath cannot be forced or insisted upon\, but that respiration will “reset” as releases in the connective tissues naturally occur. \nCost: $70 \n \n  \nThe Storehouse of Vitality in the Deep Belly\nSaturday\, February 15 | 3:00 – 5:30pm\nThe region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in zen\, the dantian in qi gong\, and related to the second chakra in yoga\, the deep belly is the source of the breath and the origin of the deep life force. It is not only the region for balance and support in the body\, but also is a source for great energy and feeling. In this class we initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions\, we stretch\, expand\, and strengthen the tissues of the lower abdomen. By engaging the deep belly\, we tap the source of prana and recharge the entire bioelectric field of the body. \nCost: $70 \n \n  \nLoosen the Outside\, Strengthen the Inside\nSunday\, February 16 | 11:00am – 1:30pm\nAll movement practices in the healing arts\, whether tai chi\, yoga or qi gung\, look to create a supple and open exterior while simultaneously building core strength within. In this class we take a deep dive into the body’s interior connective tissues to align and strengthen the iliopsoas muscle\, the diaphragm and gut while making the outer sleeves of the body both pliable and permeable. We translate this practice off the mat\, to be adaptable and receptive on the outside while remaining stable and enduring within. \nCost: $70 \n \n  \nWHERE: Green Yogi Telegraph in Berkeley\, CA \n  \n\n**Participants can receive CE hours for each event\, or 9.5 hours total for the full weekend.**

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | Healing the Kidneys for Vitality and Longevity
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n\nIt is essential that the myofascial tissue around the kidneys not become constricted. This can happen as a result of muscular tension in the low back\, dehydration\, or emotional holding. We can think of the kidneys as huge aquifers that provide endurance and homeostasis to the entire body. In this class\, we will investigate the anatomical position of the kidneys and identify ways that the kidneys support the lungs and the flow of prana. In practice we practice twists\, forward bends and supported backbends. \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | Yoga to Boost Immunity
DESCRIPTION:At the end of the fall and beginning of the winter\, we are most vulnerable to infection. This is the time to increase the circulation of blood and lymph through the upper chest\, neck and throat. The ideal postures for supporting the flow of lymph in the neck are bridge pose\, fish\, shoulder stand and plough. In this immersion we cover the location of lymph nodes and vessels in the throat and practice many different variations of these poses in order to safely promote immune health in the neck and upper chest. In pranayama\, we practice engaging jalandhara bandha (the throat seal). \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. SUMMARY:Marma - Gateway to the Subtle Body | Immersion in Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:In yoga and Ayurveda\, marma points are vital acupressure points located on the surface of the body that connect to the energetic circuitry of nerve and blood. In this course we detail the 21 most important marma points that can be directly stimulated through yoga postures. Via pressure point therapy\, we activate the flow of prana at each marma point to improve circulation through the skin\, fascia\, and organs. \nWe study the anatomical location of each point\, comparing and contrasting the marma points of Ayurveda to the acupuncture points used in Chinese Medicine. We provide pressure point release in yoga postures\, through direct stimulation using bolsters\, blocks\, the floor\, and belts. In dyads\, we use restorative poses such as supta baddha konasana\, savasana\, and leg-up-the-wall pose combined with manual pressure point release. Each day\, when practicing alone\, we cover ways to impart direct stimulation on the points using small physio-balls. This course is deeply rejuvenating while providing the essential knowledge to use pressure point stimulation in any therapeutic context in order to heal the subtle body. \n\nSchedule: \n\nThursday\, October 10 | 4:00 – 6:30pm\nFriday\, October 11 | 9:30am – 5:00pm (lunch included)\nSaturday\, October 12 | 9:30am – 5:00pm (lunch included)\nSunday\, October 13 | 9:00am – 12:00pm\n\n  \nLocation: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe\, NM \nCost: $695 + tax \nThis study was amazing for me! Helped me to integrate more and more the energetic work in yoga . Doing yoga through the prism of the marma points give more inner awareness and more space inside.” \n-Véro Coeman Darrou \n  \n“I found extremely valuable…Using the marma points to affect the subtle body\, especially the last day’s work on the head and neck was entirely new to me. As always with Tias\, I was blown away by the depth of information covered in this training!” \n-Susan Volkan \n  \n“After practicing and teaching for many years it was so good to feel/see the practice from a new perspective – there were many aha! moments in realizing how the Asana were playing into the marma system.” \n-Jo Amy \n\n**Marma as Gateway to the Subtle Body is good for 17-hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program. \n**View lodging recommendations here.

SUMMARY:Cranial-Sacral Health and Yoga | Immersion in Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:The cranium and pelvis are closely paired in their structure and dynamic function. This immersion explores the vital balance between the polar ends of the spine – the sacrum and skull. \nEach practice includes somatic movements and yoga poses to bring coherence to the motion of the entire spine. In the pelvis\, we do practices to release the sacroiliac joint and stretch and open the powerful musculature of the outer hips. In the skull\, we practice SATYA\, asana\, and meditation to address the brain and sensory organs. All yoga postures are designed to benefit the fluid dynamics of the spine\, spinal cord\, and intervertebral discs. In addition to practicing asana and SATYA for cranial-sacral health\, this training includes guided hands-on work to facilitate release of the cranium\, spine\, and pelvis. \n  \nWhen: August 6 – 8 | 9:30am – 4:30pm Mountain Time (includes a 90 minute lunch daily) \nWhere: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe \nCost: $595 +tax \n  \n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n*Click here to view suggested lodging options\n\n**Cranial-Sacral Health and Yoga is good for 18 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track.

SUMMARY:Yoga and Myofascial Release | Immersion in Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:Fascia is the physical structure that holds us together. Literally. It keeps our bones upright\, our organs in place\, and supports the pathway of the nerves. It is also considered to be the largest sensory organ. \nIn this course we take a posture\, map out the anatomical layers of fascia\, and practice different techniques to release the connective tissue. Morning sessions are devoted to asana and SATYA movements that enhance the flow of fascia through the body. In the afternoons we work in pairs to manually facilitate release in the pose by lifting\, stretching\, compressing or spiraling the fascia. \n  \nWhen: August 3 – 5 | 9:30am – 4:30pm Mountain Time (includes a 90 minute lunch daily) \nWhere: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe \nCost: $595 +tax \n  \n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n*Click here to view suggested lodging options.\n\n**Yoga and Myofascial Release is good for 18 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track.

SUMMARY:Prana\, Longevity\, & the Embodiment of Space | Immersion in Orleans\, MA
DESCRIPTION:Prana\, Longevity\, & the Embodiment of Space\nWe dedicate this summer’s Cape Cod practice to sustaining the life force by infusing the body with prana. Throughout all of our movements and meditations\, we embody a feeling of light and space.\n  \n\nSpinal Longevity – Friday\, July 19 | 2:00 – 5:00pm\nAs people age\, the spine typically falls backward\, especially in the lumbar and upper back. When the spine bows backward\, the vitality in the body wanes. In this class\, we do postures to help maintain the natural curvature of the spine. All movements support the musculature\, nerves\, discs and ligaments along the spinal shaft. \n  \nPrana the Breath of Life – Friday\, July 19 | 6:00 – 8:00pm\nThe breath of life known as prana\, animates every cell\, every nerve and gland in the body. All yoga practices open the interior channels of the body so that prana can flow more freely. The flow of prana is synergistic with blood flow as blood oxygenates all tissues. In this class\, we practice infusing the body in breath and blood in order to sustain health in all the cells of the body. \n  \nThe Sacrum and Hip Joints – Saturday\, July 20 | 10:00am – 1:00pm \nThis class is a deep dive into the hip joints. We take a slow progression through the many angles of rotation in and around the hips to generate fluidity in the sacrum and pelvis. We will practice releasing the sacrum and low back in order to generate a stream-like flow of prana through the spine. \n  \nYoga and the Embodiment of Space – Saturday\, July 20 | 2:00 – 5:00pm\nSpace is the yogi’s primary medium. In yoga\, we look to find space around the diaphragm\, space around the nerve endings\, space in the throat. We look to not only find space inside the body\, but also space around the body and space in everything we do. How do we develop an aesthetic appreciation for space and learn to not fill it up with our wants and needs? How can we sense that space itself offers a feeling of the sublime? In this class we generate freedom of movement and a free flowing breath. In meditation\, we cultivate a feeling of spacious delight in both heart and mind. \n  \n\nLOCATION: The Church of the Holy Spirit\, 204 Monument Rd\, Orleans\, MA 02653 \nCOST: \n\n$65 2-hr Friday eve Session\n$75 3-hr Single Session\n$270 Full Immersion (all 4 sessions)\n\n  \n*Please bring with you a yoga mat\, 2 yoga blocks\, 1 yoga blanket and 8-10 ft yoga strap. \n*If you select the full immersion pricing option ($270 for all 4 sessions) our scheduling software will initially show you as enrolled only for the first workshop you register for. You have the option of adding yourself to the rosters of the other workshops you will be attending\, or we will take care of that for you. Either way you will be registered for all of the events you paid for.

In SATYA 2\, you will learn more complex sequencing\, more nuanced variations of movement\, and more about the physiological benefits. For those wishing to integrate SATYA into their teaching\, SATYA 2 and 3 are a must. \nIn-depth SATYA practices compliment asana practice while deeply restoring the body. They open the joint spaces\, build sensory-motor awareness\, re-educate the neural-muscular system and help develop bi-lateral symmetry. \nThis in-person SATYA 2 emphasizes hands on assists in the movements. Learning the manual myofascial release work is a wonderful addition to the SATYA training. For obvious reasons\, the facilitated releases cannot be taught on-line. This makes the in-person SATYA 2 so valuable for your group classes and 1 to 1 private sessions. \nIn this second part of the training\, we cover the shoulder girdle in detail. We have a section on SATYA and the cranial-sacral rhythm\, SATYA and lymphatic drainage and SATYA for pranayama. This training lays out the essentials for how to sequence the SATYA movements and how to combine them with asana. We learn how to practice and teach the movements beginning with the simplest forms and leading to greater complexity. Following completion of this training\, you will be able to begin using the movements in your own classroom. \n\nCOURSE OF STUDY: \n\nLearn to use SATYA movements to prepare the body for asana\nDesign SATYA sequences to release specific areas of the body (e.g.\, lower back\, hips\, shoulders\, and neck)\nDesign SATYA sequences that include both SATYA and asana\nLearn how SATYA adjusts the spinal joints: ligaments\, facets\, and tendons\nStudy how SATYA supports pulsatory rhythms in the body\nDiscover how SATYA works as a kind of “visceral manipulation”\nLearn how SATYA supports circulation of blood and lymph\nLearn how to heal the body through savasana and SATYA\nDharma practice: Working with Hindrances\n\n  \n**To be eligible for SATYA 2\, students must have completed SATYA 1. \n\nWhen: June 18 – 22 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time  (includes 90 minutes for lunch daily) \nWhere: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Road\, Santa Fe \nCost: $1\,395   \n  \n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and snacks \n*Click here to view suggested lodging options\n\n**SATYA 2 is good for 45-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track.

SUMMARY:Yoga and the Internal Organs | Immersion in Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nWhile it is valuable to stretch and strengthen the musculoskeletal system in yoga\, the health of the organs brings radiant vitality to the entire body. In this course we utilize postures\, pranayama\, meditation and dietary regulation to support the health of the internal organs. \nWe focus on generating the flow of prana (blood and lymph) through each organ to support motility (inherent motion) and metabolic exchange. We review the anatomical position and function of each organ and practice SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) to slide\, squeeze\, wring\, drain\, and flush fluids through each organ. \nMany people suffer from stagnation in the viscera due to excess sitting\, dietary imbalances and repressed emotion. This can lead to sluggishness\, fatigue\, stagnation\, and the unwanted growth of tumors and cysts. In each day of this course\, we practice active postures such as twists\, back-arches and inversions and do restorative postures to reduce inflammation. \nThe organs are highly sensitive\, highly responsive structures given their soft-bodied walls and compartments. Thus we will take into consideration not only the physiological make up of each organ but also the psychological and emotional characteristics of the liver\, kidney\, lung\, and large intestine. \nSurya will present information on the alchemy of yoga and food to heal the internal organs. From both Ayurveda and Oriental Medicine\, we study the meridians and key acupressure points associated with each organ. In this unique course\, you will gain a new approach to practice\, healing your organic body for longevity and vitality. \n\nDay 1 | The Large Intestine\nThe Large Intestine is the primary organ of cleansing and removal. We begin the course by preparing the base of the GI tract for elimination. We build stability and mobility in the sacrum\, hips\, and pelvis to support the movement of apana in the lower gut. \nDay 2 | The Kidneys\nThe kidneys are considered the source of vitality for the entire body. It is essential not to allow the kidney region to become restricted\, locked\, or dehydrated. This can happen as a result of muscular tension in the low back\, fear\, and emotional holding. In this class we will regard the kidneys as huge aquifers that provide endurance and homeostasis to the entire body. \nDay 3: | The Liver\nCalled “The General” in Chinese Medicine\, the liver is the largest organ in the body. It is a real multi-tasker — it manufactures and stores blood and is the primary site where blood is purified. The liver is also a receptacle for toxins and negative emotion. The practice of yoga improves liver function by cleansing and purifying the blood. \nDay 4 | The Lungs\nThe lungs are highly sensitive organs that are responsible for oxygenating the blood\, removing carbon dioxide\, and absorbing prana into the body. We keep the lungs supple through asana\, pranayama\, and heart centered practices. In the time of COVID we build resiliency and immunity within the lung tissue. \nDay 5 | The Brain\nB.K.S Iyengar once said that the brain is the hardest organ to adjust. The neural expression of the brain can be felt in every tissue of the body. Through movement and meditation we support the cranial rhythms\, optimize circulatory flow through the brain\, and balance the two brain hemispheres. \n  \nGet $100 off if you register before May 17th!\n  \nWhen: June 11 – 15\, 2024 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time (includes a 90 minute lunch* daily) \nWhere: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Road\, Santa Fe \nCost: $995 + tax Early Bird before May 17th\, $1\,095 + tax after \n  \n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n*Click here to view suggested lodging options\n\n**Yoga and the Internal Organs is good for 30 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track.

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | The Hip Joint Elixir
DESCRIPTION:The name for the hip socket in Greek translates as “wine cup.” In this class we “press”\, twist\, rotate\, and squeeze the hips to generate fluidity in the spine. This helps pump spinal fluid up the spine and around the brain\, fluid that the yoga texts liken to a divine elixir. \nGiven that the ligaments and tendons that hold the hip in place are some of the strongest in the body\, we take care to slowly open the hip joints\, beginning with simple rotations and leading up to more complex hip releases. \n  \nCost: $65 + tax \nWhere: Prajna Yoga\, Santa Fe NM

DESCRIPTION:FULLY BOOKED/WAITLISTED\nContact YogaCampus for further information \n\nIn this immersion\, we take a deep dive into the fluid system as it is expressed through the spine\, brain\, fascia and organs. In our SATYA\, asana and breathing practices\, you will learn new pathways of movement and new ways of articulating the fluid based\, biodynamic potency within us all. After many months on-line\, we invite you to join our sangha to share\, re-connect\, explore\, study and practice with one another. \n\n\n\nThe cranium is home to 21 bones\, 3 chakras\, 3 brains\, and 7 sensory openings or “gates.” In this unique class\, Tias guides how to balance the skull in meditation\, SATYA and asana practice. Through movement practices\, we release tension in the neck\, cranium\, jaw\, tongue\, and inner ear. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThroughout the class\, we balance the sacrum with the skull in order to help release the connective tissues that surround the brain. These practices are valuable in the case of headaches\, TMJ strain\, eye strain\, head injury\, or insomnia. All practices bring sattva (relaxation)\, light and clarity to the upper body. SUMMARY:Light on the Fluid Body Immersion | Cheltenham\, UK - FULLY BOOKED
DESCRIPTION:FULLY BOOKED/WAITLISTED\nContact YogaCampus for further information \n\nYoga is all about staying fluid in both mind and body. In this immersion we will explore how to hydrate the body by freeing up the thousands of small tributaries of blood\, lymph\, and nerve that travel through our connective tissues. It is said that there are 350\,000 tributaries of internal flow in the body. These little rivers (nadis) move in arcs\, curves\, spirals and elliptical patterns. \nIn practice\, we do circular movements\, twists and spirals to increase circulation through all the channels of the body. Whether holding still in a pose or moving between poses\, we cultivate a mind/heart that is both supple and fluid. Through asana\, breath work\, meditation and yoga nidra\, this fluidity leads to a direct experience of absorption. \nIn this immersion\, we take a deep dive into the fluid system as it is expressed through the spine\, brain\, fascia and organs. SUMMARY:The Art and Soul of Chakras | Day 5: The Place of Purification: The Throat
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nThe chakras evoke mystery\, an artistic imagination\, and connection to the subtle body. For each of us\, the chakras are unique centers for physical and psychic energies. Part archetype\, part mythos\, and part psycho-somatic\, the chakras are doorways to the hidden potency of a personal and collective imagination. Each chakra is a rich complex of color\, geometrical design\, vibration\, and presiding totem animal. \nIn this specialized course you will embody the archetypal potency of each chakra\, relevant to your own personal history. Through asana\, sound resonance\, visualization\, and meditation we activate each of the vital energy centers throughout the body\, beginning with the tailbone and leading to the crown of the head. Anatomically we will map the muscular-skeletal\, organ\, nerve bundle and endocrine gland associated with each chakra. Tias includes a rich array of images from the yogic tradition that relate to the archetypal power behind each chakra. Each day includes an experiential dive into the chakras to bring clarity\, energy and insight. Each day includes practice of mantra\, meditation\, postural yoga and deep energetic healing of your subtle body. \n\nDay 5 | The Place of Purification: The Throat\nWednesday\, May 1 | 9:30am – 12:00pm Mountain Time \nThe throat contains a series of delicate structures that lead up to the brain including the “master” thyroid gland. The throat is a primary channel for the passage of food\, breath and arteriole blood. This day covers the emotional center relating to self expression\, song and sound. In practice we do bridge poses\, shoulderstand and the throat bandha. \n  \nWhen: May 1st | 9:30am – 12:00pm Mountain Time \nCost: $120 + tax \n\n**The Art & Soul of Chakras: Day 5 is good for 3 Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and Yoga Therapy Program. \n**Please note Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All course content will be available for 30 days.
