Through meditation\, movement and mindfulness we yoke to the strongest ray of the sun\, taking it down through the crown of our head\, bathing every cell in our bodies. \nIn the mid summer solstice\, we reach the apex of the sky. In the summer we celebrate the effulgence of the season as we weave together yoga postures\, meditation\, SATYA\, and outdoor walking meditation. Each day we share\, commune\, and celebrate our connection as a sangha while also having solo time. \nIn the mid-summer\, we take in the bounty from the season of growth. Each day includes a meal from Surya’s Kitchen with ingredients coming from Santa Fe’s regional farmer’s market. Whether in movement\, stillness\, or eating\, this retreat brings true nourishment. Through shared practice\, this retreat renews a sense of confidence\, courage\, and hope to realize new capacities for compassionate action in the world. \n  \nWHEN: June 12 – 16\, 2025 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time \nWHERE: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe \nCOST:   \n\nFull Retreat: $1\,095 + tax\nDrop-In: $220 + tax per day\n\nRegister for Day 1\nRegister for Day 2\nRegister for Day 3\nRegister for Day 4\nRegister for Day 5\n\n\n\n\n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Summer Solstice Retreat is good for 30 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program

SUMMARY:Prajna Yoga Immersion in Berkeley\, CA
DESCRIPTION:Join Tias & Surya for a very special weekend immersion at Green Yogi Telegraph in Berkeley\, CA!\n\nEssential Practice for Women with Surya\nFriday\, February 14 | 3:00 – 5:00pm\nFor all women\, vitality and health require attention to the cyclical changes that take place over the course of a lifetime. While practicing yoga\, it is essential that each of us honor our unique physiology by listening to the inherent changes that take place within. By attending to our natural biorhythms\, we tailor yoga practices specifically for the changes in our levels of energy\, sleep patterns\, and hormonal rhythms. \nCost: $65 \n \n  \nSomatic Awareness for Yoga: Breath Waves\, Tides and Flow\nSaturday\, February 15 | 11:00am – 1:30pm\nIn this class we support the inherent motion of the diaphragm in all poses by following a wave-like motion of the breath. Sometimes the breath becomes very shallow (low tide) while at other times it expands and widens (high tide). In this class we do somatic movements and yoga postures to pump the breath in wave-like patterns. We take the approach that the breath cannot be forced or insisted upon\, but that respiration will “reset” as releases in the connective tissues naturally occur. \nCost: $70 \n \n  \nThe Storehouse of Vitality in the Deep Belly\nSaturday\, February 15 | 3:00 – 5:30pm\nThe region just below the navel is the center of gravity in the body. Called the hara in zen\, the dantian in qi gong\, and related to the second chakra in yoga\, the deep belly is the source of the breath and the origin of the deep life force. It is not only the region for balance and support in the body\, but also is a source for great energy and feeling. In this class we initiate every movement and every pose from the lower belly. Through active and passive positions\, we stretch\, expand\, and strengthen the tissues of the lower abdomen. By engaging the deep belly\, we tap the source of prana and recharge the entire bioelectric field of the body. \nCost: $70 \n \n  \nLoosen the Outside\, Strengthen the Inside\nSunday\, February 16 | 11:00am – 1:30pm\nAll movement practices in the healing arts\, whether tai chi\, yoga or qi gung\, look to create a supple and open exterior while simultaneously building core strength within. In this class we take a deep dive into the body’s interior connective tissues to align and strengthen the iliopsoas muscle\, the diaphragm and gut while making the outer sleeves of the body both pliable and permeable. We translate this practice off the mat\, to be adaptable and receptive on the outside while remaining stable and enduring within. \nCost: $70 \n \n  \nWHERE: Green Yogi Telegraph in Berkeley\, CA \n  \n\n**Participants can receive CE hours for each event\, or 9.5 hours total for the full weekend.**

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | Yoga to Boost Immunity
DESCRIPTION:At the end of the fall and beginning of the winter\, we are most vulnerable to infection. This is the time to increase the circulation of blood and lymph through the upper chest\, neck and throat. The ideal postures for supporting the flow of lymph in the neck are bridge pose\, fish\, shoulder stand and plough. In this immersion we cover the location of lymph nodes and vessels in the throat and practice many different variations of these poses in order to safely promote immune health in the neck and upper chest. In pranayama\, we practice engaging jalandhara bandha (the throat seal). \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. In the midst of an all too busy life\, each class is like a mini retreat. Classes are small and students receive individual attention. The three hour time frame allows students to submerse in the teachings in a way that is not possible in shorter studio classes. Immerse with us on the Prajna Temple grounds for an afternoon of deep practice\, meditation\, and sangha sharing. Take an afternoon to drop into deep practice for your body\, mind\, and spirit. Each immersion will restore\, educate and revitalize. \n*Space is limited* \n  \nWhen: Friday\, November 8 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nCost: $65 + tax \nWhere: Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Rd\, Santa Fe\, NM

SUMMARY:Afternoons with Tias & Surya | The Energy of the Tail - FULL/WAITLISTED
DESCRIPTION:FULLY BOOKED/WAITLISTED\nContact us at the office for Waitlist info: prajnaoffice@gmail.com \n\nThe base of the spine is the source of power and motion for the whole body. In yoga and cranial-sacral mechanics\, “the mind is in the tail.” The tail is invested with the primordial impulse of movement in the fish\, the sperm\, the flight of the red tail hawk\, and the lizard. In this class we free the sacrum\, coccyx\, and surrounding musculature in order to mobilize the energy of Kundalini in the first chakra. Tias and Surya facilitate this in-person class with personal guidance and manual assistance. \nThis is a unique opportunity to work with both Tias and Surya in the beautiful setting of the Prajna Temple. SUMMARY:Meditation\, Yoga\, & Somatic Movement | In-Person Immersion in New Orleans
DESCRIPTION:Supple Hips\, Quiet Mind \n Friday\, February 23 | 5:00 – 7:30pm \nReally there is just one asana\, the seated posture for meditation. In this class we take a slow progression through the many angles of rotation in and around the hips to generate fluidity in the sacrum and pelvis. We will practice releasing the sacrum and low back in order to generate a stream-like flow of prana through the spine. When the hips are open\, we sit upright with steadiness\, ease\, and enduring peace. \n  \nSpinal Longevity\nSaturday\, February 24 | 9:30am – 12:00pm \nIn yoga\, the spine holds the body’s deepest life force. As people age\, the spine tends to collapse down and back and as a result\, vitality in the body wanes. In this class we do postures that keep the spine supple and strong by reaching forward\, spiralling\, and arching back with grace. \n  \nExpanding the Lungs\, Heart and Ribs\nSaturday\, February 24 | 2:00 – 4:30pm \nThe vital air (prana) moves through the lungs and sustains all the tissues of the body. This class focuses on regulating the pulse of prana as it moves through the chest\, lungs and ribs. In order to expand the lungs\, we stretch the shoulders and arms and make the respiratory diaphragm elastic. In pranayama we cleanse and aerate the lungs in order to bring levity and joy to the heart. \n  \nLocation: Swan River Yoga | 2940 Canal Street\, New Orleans \nInvestment: Full Weekend: $240 or Individual Session: $85

SUMMARY:Meditation\, Yoga\, & Somatic Movement | Prajna 3-Day Immersion in Pasadena\, CA
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nMeditation\, Yoga\, & Somatic Movement |  3-Day Immersion hosted by Yoga House in Pasadena\, CA\n  \nEssential Practice for Women with Surya\nFriday\, November 10 | 2:00 – 4:30pm\n\nFor all women\, vitality and health require attention to the cyclical changes that take place over the course of a lifetime. While practicing yoga\, it is essential that women honor their unique physiology by listening to the inherent rhythms within. By attending to our natural biorhythms\, we tailor yoga practices specifically for the changes in our levels of energy\, our sleep patterns and hormonal rhythms. In this class we do dynamic and restorative yoga to support women of all ages on the path of practice from menstruation to menopause. All practices for the hips\, lower back and internal organs support restoration\, radiant wellness\, and optimal vitality. \n\nNourishing Breath\, Blood\, and Bone\nFriday\, November 10 | 6:00 – 8:00pm \nThis class guides students to reduce fatigue and stress buried in the body. We irrigate blood and lymph throughout the body in order to oxygenate and revitalize all bodily tissues focusing on hip work and inner leg releases to amplify prana. \nGuided Meditation and Restorative Yoga \nBy the application of somatic movement with supported postures\, we soothe the nervous system\, empty strain and holding in the organic body and calm the mind. In this class we optimize the flow of prana in the body\, rejuvenating all the cells of the body. \n\nThe Storehouse of Vitality in the Deep Belly\nSaturday\, November 11 | 9:30am – 12:30pm \nThe lower abdomen is the center for not only balance and support in the body\, but also for receptivity\, prana\, and feeling. In all the internal arts\, the lower belly is the seat of vitality\, the source of the body’s internal breath. \nYoga Bandha in the Sacral Chakra \nIn this practice we do twists\, back arches\, and core work to tap into the vital reservoir of blood and chi in the lower abdomen. In this way we maintain the health of the uterus\, bladder\, and colon and recharge the entire bioelectric field of the body. \n  \nTides\, Fluids and Flow\nSaturday\, November 11 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nIt is essential as we age to stay fluid in both mind and body. In this practice we sense into the quality of flow in our bloodstream\, lymph channels\, spine\, and extracellular fluid. We focus on refining our perceptual skills (interoception) in order to become more fluent in a capacity to sense and feel the tidal pulse of fluids. \nGuided Meditation\, Somatic Healing\, and Yoga Nidra \nWe do practices for the spine\, neck\, and shoulders to connect us back to our inherent potency (shakti) and to uncover the essential creative vitality within. Rather than learning movement from the “outside in\,” we emerge from the inside out. We end the class with yoga nidra to embody a still and fluid state within. \n  \nYoga and the Embodiment of Space\nSunday\, November 12 | 9:30am – 12:30pm \nIn the practice of yoga\, we aim to cultivate space in all that we do. In practice\, we look to generate space and freedom of movement in the joints\, connective tissues\, organs\, and nerves. In this class\, we create space and mobility in the hip joints\, shoulders\, and spine. \nYoga for the Hips\, Subtle Body Meditation\, and Pranayama \nAs our hips open\, we practice pranayama and generate a free flowing breath to create space in the lungs and diaphragm. We create space not only inside the body but also in the mind and heart. In meditation practice\, we cultivate a spacious awareness in order to experience the clear light of bliss. \n  \nTeacher’s Intensive: Facilitated Release in Twisting Poses\nSunday\, November 12 | 2:00 – 5:00pm \nEach yoga session should include a variety of twists in order to keep the spine healthy and supple. This mini training details many ways to assist students in twisting poses. \nLearn Hands on Assist for the Sacral and Solar Chakras \nVia manual assist and with the support of blocks and straps\, you will gain new ideas as to how to help students release their hips\, low back\, and shoulders in revolving poses. We cover supine\, seated\, and standing twists. By the end of class you will feel totally invigorated\, as if you have come from a 2 hour massage! \n\nWhen: November 10 – 12 \nCost: More details and registration coming soon! \nWhere: Yogahouse in Pasadena\, CA

SUMMARY:The Dhatus in Yoga: Semen/Ovum | Online Practice
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nThe Magnificent Seven: The Dhatus in Yoga \nIn Yoga and Ayurveda\, the body is made from seven primary tissues called dhatus. The term dhatu means to hold or support and the seven—plasma\, blood\, muscle\, fat\, bone\, nerve\, and reproductive fluid—are the building blocks for the entire body. In this course we discover how all yoga practices from meditation to asana\, and from diet to pranayama serve to enhance the function of these essential seven tissues. \nYogic Nutrition and Somatic Healing\nWe begin by exploring the ground substance of rasa\, the progenitor of all 7 tissues. We include a day on nutritional and dietary health for building the blood. We use select yoga practices and somatic movements to generate optimal health in the muscle\, fat\, bone\, and nervous system. Lastly\, we will see how the reproductive system is not limited to procreation\, but in yoga is the most vital tissue in the body to support radiant health and immunity (ojas). \nAyurveda Dosha\nIn this course we take time to review your dosha (physical body type) in order to determine what kind of diet and movement practice is ideal for you. Learn how by boosting your individual dhatu\, you can generate more vitality in your overall constitution. \n\nDay 7: Semen/Ovum | Friday\, September 29\nThe final tissue\, the reproductive tissue is thought to be the most refined of all the tissues and Hatha Yoga is designed to safeguard the vitality of this dhatu.
