SUMMARY:SATYA 1 | Opening the Fascia | In-Person & Livestream Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE: IN-PERSON IMMERSION\nREGISTER HERE: LIVESTREAM ONLINE IMMERSION\nUK STUDENTS REGISTER HERE\n\nSensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement\nCourse Description\nIn a totally unique way\, the SATYA practice opens doorways into the interior\, providing new pathways of perception and feeling. It guides students away from “doing” movement and toward sensing\, receiving and “being” movement. As an adjunct to yoga practice\, somatic awareness leads to embodied wisdom. \nSATYA is Prajna Yoga’s “yin” style practice. All the movements are done on the floor in a flowing fashion\, without force. The SATYA movements cultivate inner listening and heighten proprioceptive awareness. This awareness is the body’s innate intelligence. By increasing our capacity for sensory awareness\, we become more sentient\, wakeful beings in the world. The exercises are non-weight bearing and involve sliding\, gliding and circular movements to reduce myo-fascial holding in the body. \nThe SATYA training\, along with yoga postures\, involves neural-muscular re-education. Like in vinyasa training\, breath is combined with movement in order to deepen the respiratory rhythm. All movements support profound physical rest of the body and prepare for savasana and yoga nidra (the yogic sleep). \nOur SATYA 1 immersion is perfect for first-time students or returning practitioners looking to reconnect with the subtle body. Experience SATYA 1 from anywhere with our livestream online option. Join Tias & Surya in real time via Zoom\, or watch on your own schedule with one-year access to all recordings. You’ll receive the full experience—guided practices\, digital materials\, and access to our vibrant online learning space—all from the comfort of home. \n\nLivestream Online\nThe in-person immersion (in Santa Fe\, New Mexico\, USA) will be livestreamed.  You have the option to attend live via Zoom or watch the recordings on your schedule. \nThe hybrid immersions bring the full depth of the Prajna Yoga experience directly to you\, wherever you are in the world. SUMMARY:Yoga Nidra: Finding the Still Point | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:US STUDENTS – REGISTER HERE\nUK STUDENTS – REGISTER HERE\n\nFinding the Still Point \nThe practice of Yoga Nidra enables the entire nervous system to rejuvenate and the brain to rest deeply. The pacifying effects on the brain in Yoga Nidra practice are similar to the still point in cranial-sacral therapy whereby the oscillations of the brain subside and the fluids around the brain become still for a time. In this practice of Yoga Nidra we generate profound stillness and serenity in the brain tissue. Each practice emphasizes release of the cranial tissue to promote states of deep relaxation and absorption. When cranial rhythms move into still point\, the entire body and mind can restore to their optimal levels of vitality. However\, still point can not be engineered or made to happen. It must arise of its own accord. Thus in this series of Yoga Nidra practices\, we slowly relax the body\, moving from periphery to center\, in order to prepare for the possibility of the cranial still point. \nWhen: December 3\, 4\, and 10 | 9:30 – 11:30am Mountain Time\n \nCost: $120 + tax \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions and classes will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available to you for 30 days after the last class concludes. \n** This immersion is valid for 6 hours of Continuing Education\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Program.

SUMMARY:Advanced SATYA: Regulating Blood Pressure\, Regulating the Heart | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nRegulating Blood Pressure\, Regulating the Heart\nThe heart beats over 2.5 billion times over the course of a lifetime. At the same time\, blood pressure always fluctuates during the course of a day. Yogis make it a point to regulate blood pressure through breathing techniques\, postural yoga\, diet and meditation. In this series of classes we attend to the rise and fall of blood throughout our practice. How does blood pressure change through the course of a day? What is your signature blood pressure? In practice\, we track changes in the viscosity of blood through vasodilation and vasoconstriction in the peripheral arteries\, veins and capillaries. Generally\, as vascular resistance regulates\, pressure is taken off the heart and people live longer. We practice SATYA sequences to help regulate cardio-vascular rhythm\, at times quickening blood pressure and at other times slowing it down. In this series of continuing education SATYA classes\, there will also be time for general questions and review related to SATYA teaching and practice. \n**Pre-requisite: Completion of SATYA 1** \n  \n  \nWHEN: November 5\, 6\, and 12 | 9:30 – 11:30am Mountain Time \nCOST: $120 + tax \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available for 30 days after the last day of the live immersion. \n**This immersion is good for 8 hours of continuing education credit. \n\n**Have your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy.

SUMMARY:SATYA 1 | In-Person & Hybrid Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR IN-PERSON IMMERSION\n\nCan’t make it in-person?\nOur SATYA 1 immersion is perfect for first-time students or returning practitioners looking to reconnect with the subtle body. Experience SATYA 1 from anywhere with our hybrid online option. Join Tias & Surya in real time via Zoom\, or watch on your own schedule with one-year access to all recordings. You’ll receive the full experience—guided practices\, digital materials\, and access to our vibrant online learning space—all from the comfort of home. \nLearn more about our Hyrbrid Online Immersions here.\n\nMorning & afternoon hybrid online schedule:\n9:30am – 12:30pm\, and 2:00pm – 5:00pm Mountain Time \nREGISTER HERE FOR HYBRID ONLINE IMMERSION\n\nSensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement\nDesigned by Tias Little after 30 years of education\, practice\, study\, and research\, SATYA is a somatic practice that builds mindfulness through movement. We practice fine articulated movement to open new pathways of perception and feeling. Done mostly on the floor\, SATYA involves sliding\, gliding\, stretching\, unwinding\, and core-building movements. The movements are a powerful tonic to reduce fatigue\, strain\, and holding in the body. The SATYA movements aim to increase circulation throughout all the tissues of the body. In this way\, SATYA acts as a “prana pump” to oxygenate the bloodstream and irrigate the tissues. \nWhile yoga today often emphasizes the “doing” of a posture\, SATYA encourages “being” in a movement with heightened awareness. Our aim is to tap an inner potency and to help support the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to self-regulate. All movements increase proprioceptive awareness and neuroplasticity. This practice is a therapeutic\, “yin” tonic for the body. \nSATYA is very similar to contemporary yoga that focuses on vinyasa\, combining breath with movement. In SATYA we synthesize breath with movement but without force. Done on the floor\, SATYA supports connective tissue mobilization. Deep inner listening is required to heal both mind and body. To that end\, SATYA builds meditative awareness while increasing physical vitality. Thus SATYA is mindfulness training through movement. As a movement meditation\, SATYA builds vipassana (insight) into the sensory-motor pathways of the body. This practice builds deep relaxation and clarity. The SATYA movements replenish the body by “soaking” the tissues. Thus SATYA movements can be done in conjunction with savasana and yoga nidra. \nThis training covers the foundational movements of the SATYA practice. This week will revitalize your own body by reducing fatigue and increasing mobility in your fascia. At the same time\, you will learn the key principles of the SATYA practice for the classroom. For yoga teachers who work therapeutically or with aging populations\, SATYA is a simple yet highly effective system to help safely mobilize and repair the connective tissues. \nEach morning includes guided meditation\, sound resonance\, dharma study\, visualization training\, and SATYA practice. We do yoga postures following SATYA to stabilize the joints and tissues of the body. Tias teaches anatomy of through an array of colorful slides. We study the muscular-skeletal system\, the organs\, nerves\, and glands. Tias also integrates images from nature\, sacred architecture\, and art to describe the energetic flow of prana through the body. Tias brings his background in Sanskrit\, cranial-sacral study\, yoga philosophy\, and mystical anatomy to provide a transformational week of practice and study. \n\nCourse of Study\n\ncultivate essential sensory-motor awareness\nmobilize the joints and build bi-lateral symmetry in the body\naddress low back pain\ndesign fundamental sequences that include both SATYA and asana\ndiscover the importance of spirals and counter spirals\n“it’s all about the joints”: working with tendons\, ligaments\, and joint spaces\nbeing in the “Pause”: the importance of not-doing\nusing gravity to help center inward\nre-educating the neural-muscular system and brain pathways\nlearn how to “ride the edge” through small movements\nlearn the healing potential of the movements and their effects on the myofascial system\nreduce fatigue and exhaustion\nreduce the effects of speed trapped in the body\nsense and feel the connection of the iliopsoas muscle to your spine\ndiscover how to use the SATYA movements to stretch the myofascial sheaths\ninvestigate the most current myofascial and brain information based on current research\n\n  \n*SATYA I is the first course of a 3-part 150-Hour SATYA Certification Program \n*SATYA 1 is a prerequisite for SATYA 2 and SATYA 3 \n\nWhen: August 3 – 7 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time\n  \nCost: \n\nIn-Person Immersion in Santa Fe: $1\,398 + tax (includes daily lunches)\nHybrid Online Immersion: $1\,050 + tax\n\n  \n\n**Registration includes one year of access to the course materials \n**Registration for the in-person immersion includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n**Your registration also comes with our August Series of 6 online monthly classes! \n**SATYA 1 is good for 45-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track and our 300/500-Hour Teacher Training Program

SUMMARY:SATYA 2 | Immersion in Santa Fe - FULLY BOOKED/WAITLISTED
DESCRIPTION:FULLY BOOKED/WAITLISTED\nContact the office at prajnaoffice@gmail.com for waitlist info \n\nOnce you have felt the power of SATYA you will want to continue to soak in further. In SATYA 2\, you will learn more complex sequencing\, more nuanced variations of movement\, and more about the physiological benefits. For those wishing to integrate SATYA into their teaching\, SATYA 2 and 3 are a must. \nIn-depth SATYA practices compliment asana practice while deeply restoring the body. They open the joint spaces\, build sensory-motor awareness\, re-educate the neural-muscular system and help develop bi-lateral symmetry. \nThis in-person SATYA 2 emphasizes hands on assists in the movements. Learning the manual myofascial release work is a wonderful addition to the SATYA training. For obvious reasons\, the facilitated releases cannot be taught on-line. This makes the in-person SATYA 2 so valuable for your group classes and 1 to 1 private sessions. \nIn this second part of the training\, we cover the shoulder girdle in detail. We have a section on SATYA and the cranial-sacral rhythm\, SATYA and lymphatic drainage and SATYA for pranayama. This training lays out the essentials for how to sequence the SATYA movements and how to combine them with asana. We learn how to practice and teach the movements beginning with the simplest forms and leading to greater complexity. Following completion of this training\, you will be able to begin using the movements in your own classroom. \n\nCOURSE OF STUDY: \n\nLearn to use SATYA movements to prepare the body for asana\nDesign SATYA sequences to release specific areas of the body (e.g.\, lower back\, hips\, shoulders\, and neck)\nDesign SATYA sequences that include both SATYA and asana\nLearn how SATYA adjusts the spinal joints: ligaments\, facets\, and tendons\nStudy how SATYA supports pulsatory rhythms in the body\nDiscover how SATYA works as a kind of “visceral manipulation”\nLearn how SATYA supports circulation of blood and lymph\nLearn how to heal the body through savasana and SATYA\nDharma practice: Working with Hindrances\n\n  \n**To be eligible for SATYA 2\, students must have completed SATYA 1. \n\nWhen: June 18 – 22 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time  (includes 90 minutes for lunch daily) \nWhere: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Road\, Santa Fe \nCost: $1\,395   \n  \n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and snacks \n*Click here to view suggested lodging options\n\n**SATYA 2 is good for 45-Hours of Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track.

SUMMARY:SATYA 1 | In-Person Immersion in New Orleans
DESCRIPTION:Discover the Healing Power of Somatic Yoga\nThis extraordinary benefits of this practice on your fascia\, joints\, and breath. This course on SATYA will no doubt add depth and somatic sophistication to your practice… and it is so healing. Designed by Tias Little after 30 years of education\, practice\, study\, and research\, SATYA is a somatic practice that builds mindfulness through movement. \n  \nThe Therapeutic Benefits of SATYA and Yin Yoga\nSATYA (Somatic Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement) is Prajna Yoga’s therapeutic\, “yin” style practice. We practice fine articulated movement on the floor in a flowing fashion\, synthesizing breath with movement. The exercises are non-weight bearing and involve sliding\, gliding\, and circular movements to reduce myo-fascial holding in the body. When done on the floor\, the breath and movement together enables myofascial release without strain. All movements are done slowly\, in isolation\, and without force. The SATYA movements replenish the body by increasing circulation (the flow of prana) throughout all the tissues of the body. SATYA acts as a “prana pump” to oxygenate the bloodstream and irrigate\, or “soak” the tissues. \nThe SATYA movements cultivate inner listening and heighten proprioceptive awareness\, neuroplasticity\, and neural-muscular re-education. This awareness is the body’s innate intelligence. By increasing our capacity for sensory awareness\, we become more sentient\, wakeful beings in the world. While yoga today often emphasizes the “doing” of a posture\, SATYA encourages “being” in a movement with heightened awareness. \n  \nHow SATYA Can Transform Your Restorative Yoga Practice\nOur aim is to tap an inner potency\, and to help support the body’s innate intelligence and capacity to self-regulate. Thus SATYA is mindfulness training through movement. As a movement meditation\, SATYA builds vipassana (insight) into the sensory-motor pathways of the body. The movements are a powerful tonic to reduce fatigue\, strain\, and tension in the body\, and to build deep relaxation and clarity. All movements support profound physical rest of the body and prepare for savasana and yoga nidra (the yogic sleep). \nThis training covers the foundational movements of the SATYA practice. This will revitalize your own body by reducing fatigue\, building coherence\, and integration of all the connective tissues of your body. At the same time\, you will learn the key principles of the SATYA practice for the classroom. For yoga teachers who work therapeutically or with aging populations\, SATYA is a simple yet highly effective system to help safely mobilize and repair the connective tissues. \n\nDiscover the Anatomy of Yoga\, Nadis\, and Prana\nThis immersion with Tias and Surya includes guided meditation\, sound resonance\, dharma study\, visualization training\, and SATYA practice. We do yoga postures following SATYA to stabilize the core tissues of the body. Tias will teach anatomy through an array of colorful slides. Tias integrates images from nature\, sacred architecture and art to describe the energetic flow of prana through the body. Tias brings his background in Sanskrit\, cranial-sacral study\, yoga philosophy\, and mystical anatomy to provide a transformational online course of study. \nCOURSE OF STUDY:\n\nHow to cultivate essential sensory-motor awareness by experiencing small movements out of gravity\nThe way SATYA movements benefit the lower back.\nThe effects of SATYA on the iliopsoas and spine.\nThe anatomy of the five myo-fascial sheaths and how to use the SATYA movements combined with asana\nPractice to develop an awareness of each sheath.\nHow to be in “The Pause” and experience the importance of not doing.\nReduce body fatigue.\nAddress low back pain.\nThe importance of spirals and counter spirals.\n“It’s all about the joints”: working with the tendons\, ligaments and joint spaces.\nBeing in the “Pause”: the importance of not-doing.\nHow gravity can be your friend.\nHow to “ride the edge” through small movements.\n\n  \nSchedule: February 17 – February 21 2024 | 9:30am – 4:30pm \nLocation: Swan River Yoga | 2940 Canal Street\, New Orleans \nInvestment: $985 \n\n**This in-person immersion offers 30-Hours of Continuing Education hours\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Teacher Training. An extra 15 hours of online work is also included should you wish to pursue SATYA certification.

SUMMARY:Advanced SATYA: Turning and Churning the Internal Organs | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nSATYA and Abdominal Kriyas\nMany of the age old yogic practices are devoted to maintaining the health and vitality of the abdominal organs. One of the techniques to optimize visceral motion is called nauli. In this movement (kriya)\, the abdomen is “swooshed” side to side and up and down. \nIn SATYA\, the unwinding movements\, side body releases\, and spinal undulations are ideal preparations for abdominal kriyas or “turnings”. Working like an abdominal massage\, nauli stimulates assimilation and facilitates absorption in the digestive system. In this training\, we practice churning\, massaging\, and stretching movements for the abdomen in order to increase digestive fire and boost overall levels of energy in the body. \n**Pre-requisite: Completion of SATYA 3** \n\nWHEN: October 25\, 26\, and 28 | 9:30 – 11:30am Mountain Time \nCOST: $110 + tax \n  \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available for 90 days after the last day of the live immersion.

SUMMARY:Nadis\, Circulation\, and the Joints | Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nIn yoga\, the nadis are described as rivers of energy that flow through the body. They are circulatory pathways of blood\, lymph and nerve that flow through all the connective tissues. There are thousands of small tributaries throughout the body that move via arcs\, curves\, spirals\, and elliptical patterns. In this workshop\, we do SATYA movements and yoga postures to increase circulation through all the tissues of the body. We use rocking\, circular\, and spiral movements to release the fascia and joints of the body. When there is uninhibited flow through the currents of the nadis there is radiant health and longevity in the body. \nBoth days: 9:30am MT – 12:30pm MT \n(16.30 to 19.30 UK time / 17.30 to 20.30 Central European time) \nCost: £65 \n\nCo-Hosted with: \n\n  \n  \n\n

SUMMARY:Nourishing the Throat Chakra | Live Workshop with Tias
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE – WAITING LIST\n\nJoin Tias Little for these two special workshops with YogaCampus London\, which can be booked individually or together. Attendance will also count towards the Prajna Yoga SATYA certification requirements. \nCost: £32 per workshop or £55 for both \n\nNourishing the Throat Chakra: Thursday 7 May\nIn light of the coronavirus\, our airways are most vulnerable to infection. For this reason\, it is of upmost importance to increase the flow of blood and lymph through your neck and throat. \nThis is an in-depth course focused on how to promote health and vital function in the region of your upper trunk\, throat and jaw. We practice SATYA\, asana and pranayama to tonify the muscles\, connective tissues and glands of the throat. Anatomically\, we study the lymphatic tissue that surrounds the neck and throat as well as the thyroid gland and cervical musculature. We do bridge poses\, the lion pose\, fish and shoulder stand with focus on jalandhara band (the throat seal). \n\nSPREADING THE CANOPY OF THE LUNGS: TUESDAY 5 MAY (THIS EVENT HAS PASSED)\nLung tissue bears resemblance to the branches and leaves of a great tree. In this time of the coronavirus\, our lungs are susceptible to infiltration. How can we foliate our lung tree in a yoga practice to improve circulation and build defenses? \nThis is an in-depth course on the motility of the lung relative to the diaphragm\, intercostal muscles and ribs. We will see that the branchlets of the lungs terminate in feather fine capillary beds\, the primary site where the body absorbs prana. Learn how to safely expand your lungs through pranayama\, SATYA\, supported asana and physiology ball release. Anatomically\, we investigate the pathway of prana into the body\, detailing the motion of the heart-lung pair\, the bronchioles\, alveoli\, thoracic lymph nodes and pulmonary veins. \nBoth of these workshops will start with a presentation\, with time for Q&A\, followed by an in-depth SATYA practice. The workshops will be taught LIVE on Zoom. \nCertification \nUpon completion of this workshop\, you will receive a Yogacampus Certificate of Completion.

SUMMARY:The Prana Pump and the Space Within - London UK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nPrana is the source of all being and becoming. Yet B.K.S. Iyengar once said that it is as difficult to explain Prana as it is to explain god. How do we connect to Prana in order to enliven the spaces within? How do we listen to Prana and feel its pulsating rhythms? In yoga Prana is thought to flow through 72\,000 channels in the body. Prana is not only breath but arterial flow\, nerve pulsation\, and the flow of lymph. When Prana flows uninhibited through the spaces within\, it is both healing and enlivening. This urban immersion is designed to revitalise the subtle body by yoking to the Prana within. We explore the pulse of Prana through the connective tissues\, viscera\, nerves and glands. In practice we aim to feel the light of Prana in every single cell of the body. In meditation we see that the mind is like space and by cultivating a spacious mind\, we experience timeless awareness. \n  \nCost: £99 \n\nCertification \nUpon completion of this workshop\, you will receive a Yogacampus Certificate of Completion. \nIf you wish to gain certification from Prajna Yoga as a SATYA teacher\, you are required to take the SATYA 1 intensive running 7th to 11th June 2020 and complete additional hours of self-study. You will then have 45 hours of SATYA 1 training. \nTo become a SATYA teacher\, all SATYA courses are required – please see this page for further information on the certification process: https://prajnayoga.com/yoga-training/satya/

SUMMARY:Embodied Dharma: Yoga\, Connective Tissue and Inter-Being - London UK
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nYoga historically has emphasised connection to a unified field of being. Within the body this can be experienced as the continuity of connective tissue. All structures are interwoven by a gauzy\, fibrous net of connective tissue. Connective tissue literally holds us together. In this immersion we explore the fluid\, interdependent nature of the fascia. We also explore how our sense of self identity is informed by the shape\, size\, and structure of our fascia. In the wisdom training\, one of the central teachings on the path of the Buddha-dharma is that all things are interwoven. Thich Nhat Hanh called this “inter-being”. Realising that all things at some level are interconnected is indispensable to realisation on the path of yoga. In this immersion we will practice movements that unite the flow of fascia in the body. We practice both flowing movements and still forms in order to directly experience the continuity of connective tissue. Then through insight meditation and dharma study we drop into states of meditation to discover that all things within us and around us are interwoven. SUMMARY:Yoga of the Subtle Body - Pasadena CA
DESCRIPTION:Register Here\n\nConnection to the subtle body suggests not simply an intellectual knowing but an embodied\, cellular knowing. In this course we will explore the pathways of the muscle\, bone\, blood vessel and nerve in order to bring greater wakefulness to the body-mind connection. We use the physical structure to explore the subtle body and the flow of nadis\, prana and movement through the chakras. All asana and somatic training (SATYA) emphasize slow\, deep and internal movement. In this training on the subtle body you will learn to cultivate sensitivity and inner listening through yoga\, meditation\, somatic exercises\, dream work and cranial-sacral study.  We explore the way that fatigue\, stress and anxiety deplete the subtle body. By investigating breath\, inner pulsation\, and dream images you will learn how to protect your subtle body and enhance the potency of your own deep life force. \nEach day begins with seated meditation followed by Somatic Training (SATYA). This involves floor work to release the joints\, connective tissues and the spine. Late morning involves dynamic yoga asana practice. Afternoons include anatomical study of the subtle body and restorative yoga sessions. Tias incorporates verse and poetry from classical yoga\, Taoist and Zen traditions. This is a transformational and deeply restorative week of practice and study. Recommended Reading: Yoga of the Subtle Body\, by Tias Little. \n\nDAY 1 – BUILDING FROM THE BONES  \nThe bones provide core stability for the body but as we age the bones become lighter and less stable. In the spiritual traditions of India and China\, the bone and the bone marrow are thought to hold the deep life force. In this class we build greater connection to the bones through standing and supine poses. \nDAY 2  – THE SACRUM AND THE FLUID REALM  \nThis day explores the fluidity and equilibrium of the sacrum and sacral-iliac joints. We do SATYA movements and asana to access the lower psoas and abdomen and to begin to gain support from uddiyana bandha. \nDAY 3 – THE FIRE WITHIN \nThe third chakra is a common place for constriction due to stress and emotional holding. This class investigates the adrenal glands\, lumbar spine and psoas muscle. We emphasis twists and supported backbends in the asana practice and pranayama with focus on inhalation. \nDAY 4 –  THE PRANA PUMP and THE SPACE WITHIN \nPrana is the source of all being and becoming. It flows primarily through the lungs and heart. This day explores the pulse of the prana in the chest emphasizing techniques for the shoulder joint\, the scapulae and the collar bones. In asana we do backbends and in pranayama practice Viloma I and II. In the afternoon we practice techniques for the cranium including the sensory organs of the eyes\, ears\, tongue and facial skin. \n\n

SUMMARY:SATYA 1 - Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga Attunement - Breathe Together Yoga\, Los Gatos CA - FULL/WAITLISTED
DESCRIPTION:THIS EVENT IS FULL/WAITLISTED – More Registration Info Here\n\nIn a totally unique way\, the SATYA practice opens doorways into the interior\, providing new pathways of perception and feeling. It guides students away from “doing” movement and toward sensing\, receiving\, and “being” movement. \nJOY of Yoga 300 Hour students will receive 30 hours for this training. \n\nDuring SATYA 1\, students will learn the key principles and embody the foundational movements of the SATYA practice. \n\nHow to cultivate essential sensory-motor awareness by experiencing small movements out of gravity.\nThe way SATYA movements benefit the lower back.\nThe effects of SATYA on the iliopsoas and spine.\nThe anatomy of the five myofascial sheaths and how to use the SATYA movements combined with asana practice to develop an awareness of each sheath.\nHow to be in “The Pause” and experience the importance of not doing.\nReduce body fatigue.\nAddress low back pain.\nThe importance of spirals and counter spirals.\n“It’s all about the joints”: working with the tendons\, ligaments\, and joint spaces.\nBeing in the “Pause”: the importance of not-doing.\nHow gravity can be your friend.\nHow to “ride the edge” through small movements.\n\n\nCertification Requirements \nUpon completion of this course\, you will receive a course completion letter for the 5-day intensive (30 hours). If you wish to gain certification from Prajna Yoga as a SATYA teacher\, you are required to complete additional hours of self-study. You will then have 45 hours of SATYA 1 training. To become a SATYA teacher\, all SATYA courses are required – please see the Prajna Yoga website for further information on the certification process: https://prajnayoga.com/yoga-training/satya/. \n\nAbout Tias Little \nTias synthesizes years of study in classical yoga\, Sanskrit\, Buddhist studies\, anatomy\, massage\, and trauma healing.
