SUMMARY:Bandhas: Gateways to the Yoga Body | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nBandhas are internal seals that direct the flow of vital energy through the body. Engaging the bandhas is an essential part of yoga\, for the bandhas impact the master glands of the body while sparking open the nerve bundles along the front of the spine. However\, due to stress\, trauma and the pressures of modern day living\, strain lodges in the body\, making bandha work precarious and potentially irritating. This course undertakes an in-depth study of the anatomy of the pelvic\, abdominal and cervical “locks”. We look at the bandhas not as contractions\, but as internal seals used to channel prana\, activate the chakras and balance the autonomic nervous system.  We aim to demystify the bandhas\, identifying them neither as mechanical locks nor esoteric techniques. Rather we will see how the bandhas flow as a natural extension of breathing and spinal motion. We will have time to explore a bandha each week using yoga\, somatic work\, meditations\, journaling and pranayama. In this course we compare descriptions of the bandhas from the esoteric yoga tradition with contemporary research in the fields of psychology\, neuroscience\, somatics\, and contemplative science. \nCost: $135 + tax \nWhen: Live Zoom Meetings on April 1\, 8\, 16\, and 22 | 9:30am – 11:30am MT. 11:30am – 1:30pm ET. \n\nDay 1   Tapping the Root: Mula Bandha \nIn this practice we energize the innermost structures of the pelvis without clenching or gripping. We explore how mula bandha supports the reproductive organs while providing stability and fluidity in the first two chakras. \nDay 2  The Flying Bandha: Uddiyana Bandha \nUddiyana bandha is critical for lengthening and stabilizing the lower back while activating the third chakra in the solar plexus. Discover how this bandha supports the internal organs and regulates the adrenal glands. We explore how this region is related to the energy of power and fear. \nDay 3  The Throat Bandha \nThis day is devoted to the throat and technique of the “water bandha”. This seal impacts the fluids in the neck– blood\, lymph and the secretion of thyroxine from the thyroid gland.  In this class\, we engage the delicate structures of the throat without causing excessive constriction. We study how the throat relates to sound resonance\, vocal power and repressed emotion. \nDay 4   The Tongue Seal \nIn hatha yoga it is of utmost importance to expand the region of the tongue\, soft palate and upper throat. Yogis emphasize curling their tongue backward in order to open the pathway into the cranial chakras. Constriction of the palate and upper throat can result in diminished oxygen to the brain\, fatigue\, poor concentration\, and dementia. In this class we open the roof of the mouth and work with the vital energy centers in the brain. \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions and classes will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All live session recordings are available to you for 30 days after the last class concludes. \n** This immersion is valid for 8 hours of Continuing Education\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Program. \n**Have your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, a 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy.

SUMMARY:Yoga and the Internal Organs | Immersion in Santa Fe
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nWhile it is valuable to stretch and strengthen the musculoskeletal system in yoga\, the health of the organs brings radiant vitality to the entire body. In this course we utilize postures\, pranayama\, meditation and dietary regulation to support the health of the internal organs. \nWe focus on generating the flow of prana (blood and lymph) through each organ to support motility (inherent motion) and metabolic exchange. We review the anatomical position and function of each organ and practice SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) to slide\, squeeze\, wring\, drain\, and flush fluids through each organ. \nMany people suffer from stagnation in the viscera due to excess sitting\, dietary imbalances and repressed emotion. This can lead to sluggishness\, fatigue\, stagnation\, and the unwanted growth of tumors and cysts. In each day of this course\, we practice active postures such as twists\, back-arches and inversions and do restorative postures to reduce inflammation. \nThe organs are highly sensitive\, highly responsive structures given their soft-bodied walls and compartments. Thus we will take into consideration not only the physiological make up of each organ but also the psychological and emotional characteristics of the liver\, kidney\, lung\, and large intestine. \nSurya will present information on the alchemy of yoga and food to heal the internal organs. From both Ayurveda and Oriental Medicine\, we study the meridians and key acupressure points associated with each organ. In this unique course\, you will gain a new approach to practice\, healing your organic body for longevity and vitality. \n\nDay 1 | The Large Intestine\nThe Large Intestine is the primary organ of cleansing and removal. We begin the course by preparing the base of the GI tract for elimination. We build stability and mobility in the sacrum\, hips\, and pelvis to support the movement of apana in the lower gut. \nDay 2 | The Kidneys\nThe kidneys are considered the source of vitality for the entire body. It is essential not to allow the kidney region to become restricted\, locked\, or dehydrated. This can happen as a result of muscular tension in the low back\, fear\, and emotional holding. In this class we will regard the kidneys as huge aquifers that provide endurance and homeostasis to the entire body. \nDay 3: | The Liver\nCalled “The General” in Chinese Medicine\, the liver is the largest organ in the body. It is a real multi-tasker — it manufactures and stores blood and is the primary site where blood is purified. The liver is also a receptacle for toxins and negative emotion. The practice of yoga improves liver function by cleansing and purifying the blood. \nDay 4 | The Lungs\nThe lungs are highly sensitive organs that are responsible for oxygenating the blood\, removing carbon dioxide\, and absorbing prana into the body. We keep the lungs supple through asana\, pranayama\, and heart centered practices. In the time of COVID we build resiliency and immunity within the lung tissue. \nDay 5 | The Brain\nB.K.S Iyengar once said that the brain is the hardest organ to adjust. The neural expression of the brain can be felt in every tissue of the body. Through movement and meditation we support the cranial rhythms\, optimize circulatory flow through the brain\, and balance the two brain hemispheres. \n  \nGet $100 off if you register before May 17th!\n  \nWhen: June 11 – 15\, 2024 | 9:30am – 5:00pm Mountain Time (includes a 90 minute lunch* daily) \nWhere: The Prajna Temple | 11 Toltec Road\, Santa Fe \nCost: $995 + tax Early Bird before May 17th\, $1\,095 + tax after \n  \n*Registration includes daily vegan\, organic\, gluten-free lunches and tea \n*Click here to view suggested lodging options\n\n**Yoga and the Internal Organs is good for 30 hours of Continuing Education through Yoga Alliance\, and can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program and the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track.

SUMMARY:The Dhatus in Yoga: Semen/Ovum | Online Practice
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nThe Magnificent Seven: The Dhatus in Yoga \nIn Yoga and Ayurveda\, the body is made from seven primary tissues called dhatus. The term dhatu means to hold or support and the seven—plasma\, blood\, muscle\, fat\, bone\, nerve\, and reproductive fluid—are the building blocks for the entire body. In this course we discover how all yoga practices from meditation to asana\, and from diet to pranayama serve to enhance the function of these essential seven tissues. \nYogic Nutrition and Somatic Healing\nWe begin by exploring the ground substance of rasa\, the progenitor of all 7 tissues. We include a day on nutritional and dietary health for building the blood. We use select yoga practices and somatic movements to generate optimal health in the muscle\, fat\, bone\, and nervous system. Lastly\, we will see how the reproductive system is not limited to procreation\, but in yoga is the most vital tissue in the body to support radiant health and immunity (ojas). \nAyurveda Dosha\nIn this course we take time to review your dosha (physical body type) in order to determine what kind of diet and movement practice is ideal for you. Learn how by boosting your individual dhatu\, you can generate more vitality in your overall constitution. \n\nDay 7: Semen/Ovum | Friday\, September 29\nThe final tissue\, the reproductive tissue is thought to be the most refined of all the tissues and Hatha Yoga is designed to safeguard the vitality of this dhatu. The reproductive tissue is closely paired to immunity\, physical vitality\, and longevity. We study male and female reproductive health and practice hip\, inner groin\, and lower abdominal releases. \n\nCOST: $56 + tax for individual days  \nWHEN: September 29 | 7:00 – 9:30am MT**  (Please note the different start time!) \n  \n\n**Please note that Day 7 runs from 7:00 – 9:30am instead of normal hours. \n**This online immersion offers 2.5-Hours of Continuing Education hours\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Teacher Training. \n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend the live stream. All live session recordings are available for 90 days after the last day of the live immersion. \n\n**Have your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy.

Learn how by boosting your individual dhatu\, you can generate more vitality in your overall constitution. \n\nDay 2: Blood | Saturday\, September 9\nBlood is created from the food we eat thus the samana region (the solar plexus)\, “the hearth\,” is critical to sustaining the vitality of the body. We study how diet and nutrition is integral to building blood. We do practices to increase internal “bathing” by circulating blood through twists\, forward bends\, and inversions. \n\nCOST: $56 + tax for individual days \nWHEN: September 9 | 9:00 – 11:30am MT \n  \n\n**This online immersion offers 2.5-Hours of Continuing Education hours\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Teacher Training. SUMMARY:The Magnificent Seven: The Dhatus in Yoga | Day 1: Plasma | Online Practice
DESCRIPTION:The Magnificent Seven: The Dhatus in Yoga \nIn Yoga and Ayurveda\, the body is made from seven primary tissues called dhatus. \n\nDay 1: Plasma | Thursday\, September 7\nWe start with the fluids—embryonic\, cellular\, extra-cellular\, and protoplasma—that give rise to all tissues of the body. These fluids have their own rhythm and tidal flow and bear their own intelligence. We do practices to enhance the potency and flow of the “groundwater” of the body. \n\nCOST: $56 + tax for individual days \nWHEN: September 7 | 9:00 – 11:30am MT \n  \n\n**This online immersion offers 2.5-Hours of Continuing Education hours\, and can be applied towards the required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Teacher Training. \n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend the live stream. SUMMARY:Healing the Organic Body | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:USA STUDENTS REGISTER HERE\nUK STUDENTS REGISTER HERE\n\nWhile it is valuable to stretch and strengthen the musculoskeletal system in yoga\, the health of the organs brings radiant vitality to the entire body. \n  \nCost: $725 for the full immersion\, or $150 for individual days \n\nDay 1 | The Large Intestine – October 13 | 9:30am – 12:30pm Mountain Time \nThe Large Intestine is the primary organ of cleansing and removal. We begin the course by preparing the base of the GI tract for elimination. We build stability and mobility in the sacrum\, hips\, and pelvis to support the movement of apana in the lower gut. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 1\nDay 2 | The Kidneys – October 14 | 9:30am – 12:30pm Mountain Time \nThe kidneys are considered the source of vitality for the entire body. It is essential not to allow the kidney region to become restricted\, locked\, or dehydrated. This can happen as a result of muscular tension in the low back\, fear\, and emotional holding. In this class we will regard the kidneys as huge aquifers that provide endurance and homeostasis to the entire body. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 2\nDay 3: | The Liver – October 15 | 9:00am – 1:30pm Mountain Time \nCalled “The General” in Chinese Medicine\, the liver is the largest organ in the body. It is a real multi-tasker — it manufactures and stores blood and is the primary site where blood is purified. The liver is also a receptacle for toxins and negative emotion. The practice of yoga improves liver function by cleansing and purifying the blood. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 3\nDay 4 | The Lungs – October 16 | 9:30am – 12:30pm Mountain Time \nThe lungs are highly sensitive organs that are responsible for oxygenating the blood\, removing carbon dioxide\, and absorbing prana into the body. We keep the lungs supple through asana\, pranayama\, and heart centered practices. In the time of COVID we build resiliency and immunity within the lung tissue. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 4\nDay 5 | The Brain – October 17 | 9:30am – 12:30pm Mountain Time \nB.K.S Iyengar once said that the brain is the hardest organ to adjust. The neural expression of the brain can be felt in every tissue of the body. Through movement and meditation we support the cranial rhythms\, optimize circulatory flow through the brain\, and balance the two brain hemispheres. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 5\n\nSCHEDULE:\nDAILY LIVE ZOOM MEETINGS: \n\nOctober 13 – 17\, 2021 | 9:30am -12:30pm Mountain Time | 4:30 – 7:30pm UK Time\n**Except Friday\, October 15 | 9:00am – 1:30pm Mountain Time | 4:00 – 8:30pm UK Time\n\n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. These recordings are available indefinitely. \n**Included in this course is bonus access to two Prajna Live classes at 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time (5:00 – 6:30pm UK Time) on Tuesday\, October 12 and Friday\, October 15. You will have access to these classes directly in the course curriculum for 2 weeks after the course completes. \n\n**Healing the Organic Body is good for 30 hours of total combined live training\, pre-recorded material\, classes\, homework\, and mentorship available for Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance. All course materials are available indefinitely. \n**Healing the Organic Body can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.  \n**Healing the Organic Body is part of the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track. \n**Have your props handy! SUMMARY:Transformation Through the Chakras | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\nREGISTER HERE FOR UK STUDENTS\n\nA physical\, energetic and spiritual path through the chakras\nThe chakras evoke mystery\, an artistic imagination and connection to the subtle body. For each of us\, the chakras are unique centers of physical and psychic energy. In this specialized course we cover the anatomical structures that correspond to each chakra beginning with the tailbone and leading to the crown of the head. You will learn the muscular-skeletal\, organic\, and glandular association within each chakra. This course details these vital energy centers along the vertebral column that houses nerve bundles thought to be “small brains.” \nIn addition we investigate the emotional and spiritual quality of each chakra. We investigate ways to strengthen each chakra as well as the causes of deterioration within each chakra. Learn the energetic and emotional vitality that pertains to each vital energy center. We refer to the dynamic polarity in hatha yoga of the sun/moon\, male/female and shiva/ shakti. We will look at how the five elements (earth\, water\, fire\, air\, and space) and the yogic “winds” (vayus) pertain to each energy center. \nIn daily practice\, we activate each of the vital energy channels through asana\, sound resonance\, visualization\, hand mudras and meditation. In this course you will identify the chakra that is strongest for you and the one that is most vulnerable. \nThis course includes a rich array of iconographic images from the yogic tradition in order to describe the subtle body along with anatomical images that provide insight into the anatomy of each chakra. Tias brings his background in Buddhist studies\, Sanskrit\, yoga philosophy\, dreamwork\, Indian art\, and mystical anatomy to this unique course on the chakras. \nClick here to learn more\n\nDay 1: The Root of It All\nThe first day is an introduction to the entire chakra system plus a study and practice of the first and second chakras. We focus on the connection of the legs to the pelvis and sacrum. The sacrum is the center of gravity in the body and is home to the reproductive organs and the kundalini. We practice movements to open the hips and mobilize the body’s deep life force from the base of the spine. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 1\nDay 2: The Belly Center: The Fire Within\nThe abdomen\, the third chakra\, is the hearth of the body and the seat of personal will. This class covers uddiyana bandha\, the digestive center\, the kidneys\, adrenal glands and the psychological challenges with coming into one’s own power. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 2\nDay 3: The Lotus Heart\nThe heart chakra is the mediator and synthesizer of all the other chakras. This day focuses on the heart and lung and the exquisite vibration of feeling that resides in the heart. We practice metta meditations\, asana to expand the chest and pranayama to open the ribs and lungs. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 3\nDay 4: The Place of Purification: The Throat\nThe throat contains a series of delicate structures that lead up to the brain including the “master” thyroid gland. The throat is a primary channel for the passage of food\, breath and arteriole blood. This day covers the emotional center relating to self expression\, song and sound. In practice we do bridge poses\, shoulderstand and the throat bandha. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 4\nDay 5: The Cranial Chakras\nOn this day we look at the centers in the skull relating to the brain\, brainstem\, sensory organs and consciousness. This day investigates the cranial sutures\, the cranial-sacral system and the “master” pituitary and pineal gland. Through inversions\, meditation and visualization\, we yoke to a spacious\, all pervading awareness. \nREGISTER FOR DAY 5\n\nCost: \nFull immersion: $725 \nIndividual day: $150  \n\nDaily Live Zoom Meetings: March 17 – 21 | 9:30am – 1:00pm \n*Included in this course is bonus access to the Prajna Live classes on Tuesday\, March 16 and Friday\, March 19 at 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time. SUMMARY:Anatomy of the Vayus | Online Course
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR THE FULL IMMERSION\n\nOpening the Inner Currents of Prana: Anatomy of the Vayus\nIn the earliest yoga practices\, the life force in the body is thought to flow through tubules\, channels or vessels\, in the way that wind or water flows in currents. In yoga\, the vayus are “wind channels”\, that conduct the flow of nerves blood and lymph. Understanding the nature of each vayu is crucial to harmonizing the subtle flow of prana in the body and to establishing health and vitality. Tias will guide students through an in-depth investigation of the five primary winds in the body and through yoga asana\, pranayama\, and SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) and activate or mitigate the strength of each vayu. We will investigate the structures and the associated physiological functions of each vayu and map out the vayus’ location in the body. \nIn a process that requires sensitivity and inner listening\, we explore the pathways of the muscle\, bones and nerves in order to bring greater wakefulness to movement within the vayus. Through dharma study\, guided meditation\, yoga nidra\, somatic awareness and yoga postures this is a transformational week of practice and study. In this intensive we will investigate poems of awakening from the historical Yoga\, Taoist\, and Zen traditions. \nEach day includes seated meditation\, chanting and inspirational dharma teaching followed by Sensory Awareness Training (SATYA) involving floor work to unwind the body. We offer both dynamic and restorative yoga practices to balance and heal each vayu. \nCLICK HERE TO LEARN MORE\n*Included with full immersion registration are two bonus Prajna Live weekly classes on 12/1 & 12/4!* \n\nDay 1: Apana | December 2 \nThis first day is the groundwork for the entire study. When the lower spine and its associated organs are healthy\, one can feel lightness and space in their entire body. This day serves to release congestion\, strain and imbalances in the lower abdomen in order to increase mobility within the first and second chakras. We cover the lumbar spine\, sacrum\, pelvis and pelvic organs. We do standing poses\, twists\, inversions\, supine poses\, supported backbends\, and pranayama with focus on exhalation. \nREGISTER HERE FOR DAY 1\nDay 2: Samana | December 3 \nThe fire center of the body is difficult to control yet is the source of the body’s inner vitality. Samana is present in the upper abdomen and relates to digestive fire and the third chakra in the body. This area is the furnace for digestive function and absorption. This class aims to help release holding in the mid trunk and the  the solar plexus. In this day we explore the effect of uddiyana bandha on the abdominal region and do twists\, forward bends\, and meditation. \nREGISTER HERE FOR DAY 2\nDay 3: Prana | December 4 \nPrana resides in the heart and is the gateway to the experience of lightness and joy. In this day we concentrate\non opening the upper rib area\, the sternum\, and collar bones in order to improve elasticity of the lungs. Our emphasis is on releasing restriction in the diaphragm and to refining the movement of the breath. We explore the ways that grief\, depression\, and joy are governed by prana. We do backbends\, inversions\, meditation\, and pranayama with focus on inhalation. \nREGISTER HERE FOR DAY 3\nDay 4: Udana | December 5 \nUdana is the upward rising breath located primarily in the throat and head. It is the most difficult of all the vayus to control. In this day\, we will see how stress\, psychological tension\, and emotional strain result in constriction in the neck\, jaw\, and tongue. This class addresses the effects of jalandhara bandha related to the throat chakra. We do inversions\, supported backbends\, meditation\, chanting\, and pranayama. \nREGISTER HERE FOR DAY 4\n Day 5: Vyana | December 6 \nThis is the vayu that governs circulation and the profusion of prana throughout the body and is the most healing of all the internal currents. It involves the circulation of blood throughout the organs\, glands\, and tissues of the body. Vyana\, the “dispersing breath” serves to build meditative awareness\, serenity\, and deep rest. We do standing poses\, supported poses\, savasana\, yoga nidra\, and meditation. \nREGISTER HERE FOR DAY 5\n  \nWhen: December 2 – 6 | 10:30am – 1:30pm Mountain Time \n**Full immersion includes two bonus Prajna Live Classes: \n\nTuesday\, December 1 | 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time\nFriday\, December 4 | 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time\n\n***Full immersion also includes live Q&A session with Tias & Surya: \n\nFriday\, December 4 | 3:30-4:30pm Mountain Time\n\nCost: $725 for all 5 days\, or drop in to individual days for $150 \n\nCo-Hosted with: \n\n

SUMMARY:The Art of Healing: Yoga Therapy | Trunk\, Shoulders\, and Skull | Online Training
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE FOR TRUNK\, SHOULDERS\, AND SKULL\nREGISTER HERE FOR BOTH PARTS\n\nWe are delighted to announce that we have reconfigured our Art of Healing course into an on-line format that you can attend directly from your living room. The Art of Healing: Yoga Therapy is an in-depth training on how to modify the poses to address the limitations of your students. Our aim is to review the most common afflictions that a teacher will be confronted with in the classroom namely lower back pain\, knee pain\, sciatic pain\, high blood pressure\, chronic fatigue\, GI tract dysfunction\, migraines\, insomnia\, cancer\, and surgery. \nThe course now has Live Zoom meetings\, recorded material\, readings\, and practicum work rolled out onto the online platform. The big score is that you will have access to all the course materials including Tias and Surya’s notes on the therapeutic work for all time. And like in the live groups\, each of you will have the opportunity to get to know one another via the Zoom sharing\, discussions\, practice pods\, and review. The course is streamlined into two sections. \n\nTrunk\, Shoulders\, and Skull \nAligning the neck\, skull\, and shoulders is tricky\, for the upper structures of the body are most prone to misalignment. At this time of the pandemic\, all structures close to the brain are subject to clenching and holding due to anxiety\, stress\, and sleeplessness. In this immersion we focus on jaw strain\, shoulder imbalance\, and neck strain. You will learn the essential SATYA movements and asanas to stabilize the hands\, wrists\, shoulder girdle\, and neck using Prajna Yoga’s twelve most therapeutic poses. In meditation practice we weave in techniques to reduce stress and anxiety that accumulate in the upper trunk. Additionally\, we cover the emotional and psychological issues that cause strain and blockage in the shoulders and neck. This course includes a short practicum to apply the work to your students\, clients or family members. \nEach day includes meditation\, anatomical study\, demonstration\, and Live Zoom practice. \n\nWhen: Live Zoom Meetings on August 12 – 16\, 9:30am – 12:30pm daily\, except Friday August 14\, 12:30 – 3:30pm Mountain Time \nTotal time: 25 hours (available for CE credits through Yoga Alliance) \n\nCost: $525 for Trunk\, Shoulders\, and Skull \n*When you register for The Art of Healing: Yoga Therapy | Trunk\, Shoulders\, and Skull\, you also receive access to the Prajna Live classes at 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time on Tuesday\, August 11 and Friday\, August 14. We address hamstring injuries\, sciatica\, ankle sprain\, and lower back pain using Prajna Yoga’s twelve most therapeutic poses. In this course you will learn how to use support the body with the use of the wall\, chair\, and bolster in order to optimize healing. We review the emotional and psychological issues that impact the legs and pelvis. This course includes a short practicum to apply the work to your students\, clients or family members. \nEach day includes meditation\, anatomical study\, demonstration\, and Live Zoom practice. \n\nWhen: Live Zoom Meetings on August 5 – 9\, 9:30am – 12:30pm daily\, except Friday August 7\, 12:00 – 3:30pm Mountain Time \nTotal time: 25 hours (available for CE credits through Yoga Alliance) \n\nCost: $525 per part\, or $1\,050 for Parts 1 & 2* \n*When you register for The Art of Healing: Yoga Therapy | Part 1: The Legs & Pelvis\, you also receive access to the Prajna Live classes at 10:00 – 11:30am Mountain Time on Tuesday\, August 4 and Friday\, August 7. SUMMARY:Prajna Now | Yoga & Spiritual Perfectionism | Online Lecture & Discussion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nIn this class we explore how the urge toward physical and spiritual perfectionism is common to many practitioners of yoga. When yogic teachings collide with the urge to be pure\, faultless\, and true\, it is a veritable perfect storm. All too often\, a yearning for purity\, ingrained somewhere in the depths of our psyche\, finds an outlet in yoga techniques—techniques that espouse cleanliness\, equilibrium\, and peace. For those raised in middle- to upper-class backgrounds there is a longing to be virtuous. Growing up Catholic\, Baptist\, or Presbyterian\, we aspire to be praiseworthy\, follow the rules\, and live a moral life. How do we cope with the urge to live up to a grand ideal? How can we find peace in the midst of an imperfect world? \nCost: $15 \n\nSome logistics: \nPlease note all events are listed in Mountain Time. \nJoin us for these Live Zoom events! If you are unable to attend the Live Zoom at the time they are offered\, feel free to register and you will have unlimited access to the recordings.
