SUMMARY:Gluten Free! Releasing the Outer Hips | Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nThe glut muscles on the outer edge of the hip are typically restricted due to the weight of compressive forces of the body. In this workshop we will release blocks and adhesions in the outer hips including the structures of the IT band and glut medius muscle. \nWe begin with Tias showing slides of the anatomical and energetic structures within the hip and low back. We will review the function of the piriformis muscle and sciatic nerve and practice ways to reduce sciatic pain in the outer hip region. There will then be time for enquiry\, questions and reflections. \nAfter the lecture and Q&A we will move to a short sequence on our back\, doing pressure point release work with a tennis ball or small physio ball set against the outer buttock region. The ribs are integral to the flow of breath and to all movements of the trunk when twisting\, side bending\, back arching and forward bending. In this course\, Tias will detail the dynamic function of the ribs in yogic breathing. We will explore the ribs’ connection to the diaphragm\, spine\, and sternum. In practice\, we pump\, twist\, expand and contract the musculature that attaches directly to the ribs. By gaining greater sensitivity and kinesthetic awareness for your ribs\, you will increase range of motion and deepen your respiratory rhythm. In this class Tias will begin by providing an overview of the five hindrances and offer reflections on how they are relevant at this time.
