SUMMARY:Somatic Awareness: Tides\, Fluids\, and Flow | Online 2-Part Workshop
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nThis in-depth professional training involves somatic tracking skills for oneself\, one’s clients or students. In this immersion\, we develop a capacity for inquiry\, witnessing\, somatic resonance\, and relational dialogue. We focus on refining our perceptual skills (interoception) in order to become more fluent in our capacity to sense and feel inside. \nAll practices aim to connect us back to our inherent potency (shakti) and to uncover the creative vitality within each one of us. Rather than learning postures from the “outside in”\, we emerge from the inside out\, sensing inherent movement and identifying barriers to flow. Through sound and visualization we explore way to support the autonomic nervous system within our nerves\, glands\, blood vessels and organs. \nIt is essential as we age to stay fluid in both mind and body. In this practice we sense into the quality of flow in our bloodstream\, lymph channels\, spine and extracellular fluid. We develop a capacity for inquiry\, witnessing\, fluid resonance\, and relational dialogue. We focus on refining our perceptual skills (interoception) in order to become more fluent in a capacity to sense and feel the tidal pulse of fluids. All practices aim to connect us back to our inherent potency (shakti) and to uncover the creative vitality within each one of us. Rather than learning movement from the “outside in”\, we emerge from the inside out\, sensing inherent movement and identifying barriers to flow. Through movement\, stillness\, sound and visualization\, we explore way to support the autonomic nervous system within our nerves\, glands\, blood vessels and organs. \nHosted by YogaCampus\, London UK. \n\nPart 1: From Sacrum to Skull \nIn this segment we explore the dynamic balance between the two poles of the spine\, the sacrum and the occiput. Many yoga poses and vinyasa itself serve to balance the motion between these two. In this immersion we explore movements that connect the sacrum and sacral nerves to the brainstem within the skull. We will focus on movements that benefit the fluid dynamics within the spine\, spinal cord and inter-vertebral discs. \n  \nPart 2: The Arms\, Neck\, and Jaw \nIn this segment we explore ways to release accumulated tension in the jaw by mobilizing the arms and shoulders. We focus on mandibular tension that is a result of dental work\, neck pain and stress. With somatic movements\, yoga postures and mudras\, we open the jaw and irrigate blood and lymph throughout the neck. \n\nSchedule:  \nPart One: Wednesday 23 February \nPart Two: Wednesday 9 March \nBoth sessions run 16.30 to 19.00 UK time\, 9:30am – 12pm Mountain Time. \n\nCOST: £65 \n\n**Please note ALL Live Zoom sessions and classes will be recorded should you be unable to attend any live streams. All recordings will be available for 30 days.

SUMMARY:Yoga Nidra: How to Rest Your Brain through Deep Sleep | Online Immersion
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nContemporary research reveals how important it is that the brain rest and recharge during sleep states. Through the centuries\, yoga practices have instructed to reduce noise in the brain through states of meditation\, relaxation\, and serenity. In this course\, we embody states of deep peace and relaxation through restorative yoga\, yoga nidra\, and its corollary\, savasana. \nIn each practice we embody stillness\, silence\, and space within. By resting in states of deep relaxation\, the body and mind can restore to their optimal levels of vitality. Each class starts with a short investigation of the physiological benefits of deep sleep and insights into the yoga teachings on absorption. SUMMARY:Moving from the Body’s Eight Diaphragms | Online Workshop
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\n Many people do not realize that the respiratory diaphragm is not the only horizontal structure in the body that follows a pump like motion to support the flow of breath and blood. In this immersion we practice the dynamic alignment and function of the body’s diaphragms\, beginning with the plantar surface of the feet\, up through the knees\, pelvic floor\, trunk\, and cranium. We will utilize pumping\, spiraling\, expanding\, and narrowing movements to bring greater buoyancy and resiliency to each diaphragm. We use SATYA\, active and recuperative postures\, and pranayama to bring greater coherence to the diaphragms. The beginning of class will include a half hour anatomical presentation on the ligaments\, muscles\, and connective tissues that form each of the eight diaphragms. This course will address conditions that impact the diaphragms such as plantar fasciitis\, meniscus strain\, pelvic floor dysfunction\, reversed breathing\, and temporal mandibular joint dysfunction. \n  \nWhen: Wednesday\, December 1 | 9:30am – 12:00pm Mountain Time | 4:30 – 7:00pm UK Time \nCost: £65 \n\n**Have your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless Iyengar chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). SUMMARY:Neurovascular Release: Two Part Series | Online Workshops
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER HERE\n\nPart 1: Neurovascular Release of the Femur\, Lower Belly\, and Hip Joints\nIn order to optimize circulation into the leg\, it is critical that the lower abdomen and inner leg be pliable. All too often\, the groins\, hips\, and inside leg become restricted\, rotated\, and thickened. Excess tissue pads this area restricting the circulation of blood and lymph. This can result in swelling of the lower leg\, peripheral neuropathy\, and fatigue. In this class we use SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) to open the inner leg via free flowing movements. We also practice supported yoga postures to slowly\, but steadily release the fascia of the inner hip and groin to help open the circulatory and lymphatic channels. \nWhen: Wednesday\, September 29 | 9:30am – 12:00pm Mountain Time | 4:30 – 7:00pm UK Time \n\nPart 2: Neurovascular Release of the Arms\, Neck\, and Jaw\nThe neck\, arms\, and jaw are tied together by sturdy connective tissue\, but all too often this tissue hardens and locks. This causes compression in the shoulders\, hands\, cervical spine\, and brachial plexus. In order to prevent adhesions from accumulating in this region\, we slide\, rotate\, side bend\, and stretch the musculature of the neck\, throat\, and arms. We begin this class noting the important muscles\, nerves\, arteries\, and lymph channels in and around the brachial plexus. You will see how peripheral neuropathy\, osteoarthritis\, and thoracic outlet syndrome are triggered by compression in the neck and shoulder. Symptoms may arise from sleeping patterns\, repetitive strain syndromes\, and trauma. We use SATYA (Sensory Awareness Training for Yoga) and both supportive and dynamic postures to release the soft tissues of the arm\, neck and jaw. \nWhen: Wednesday\, October 27 | 9:30am – 12:00pm Mountain Time | 4:30 – 7:00pm UK Time \n\nCost: £65 for both workshops \nCo-Hosted with YogaCampus\n\nHave your props handy! We recommend two blocks\, blankets\, a thick bolster\, an 8’ or 10’ belt/strap\, and a backless Iyengar chair (modifications will be given if you do not have a chair). We recommend yogaoutlet.com and Manduka for props; backless chairs can be found on Amazon and Etsy. \nThis two part workshop counts for 5 hours available for Continuing Education hours through Yoga Alliance \nThis workshop can be applied towards required hours for the Prajna Yoga 300/500-Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program\, and is part of the Prajna Yoga Therapy Track
